we're considering staying at the Poly again this next Sept. (my families fave resort!) and I'm pushing for Club level this time. However, I have an allergy to
oranges and melons soooo....would I let them know ahead of time, assuming they can change anything, or will I just have to ignore most of the offerings?

Definitely tell them -- you never know what they might do to accommodate you. I wouldn't count on it, though. But, honestly, the only oranges I saw there were whole ones for snacks. Didn't see all that much melon, either, so hopefully, even if they dont change anything, you'll be ok.

Still, make sure they know -- you never know what gets put into sauces and things like that. Hope you enjoy the Poly!!!

DonaldDoleWhip -- thanks for your review of the AKL CL. We really enjoy it there, but didn't stay on the 6th floor like you did. I do think that they have the best breakfast and I love the tea (although I agree that the GF tea is a bit better). I'm glad there's still some differences between the CL offerings, though -- otherwise it would get boring! I also agree with you that the homogenization of the merchandise and other things is a bad idea (although it helps me to save a bunch of money).

We arrive next Friday night 12/18 at WL CL! We are putting the kids in the car around noon. They think we are driving to inlaws in Arkansas but in fact we are driving to Orlando! We won't tell them anything- just going to see if either of them notices that we are driving South instead of West. We should get in around 8pm.

Anyway, it is also the last night of Hannukah. (We celebrate both Hannukah and Xmas.) Arriving at Disney is gift enough, but I thought it might be fun to enlist the concierge services for a small surprise in the room. I have never asked the IPO for this type of help before- any ideas?

Oh, what fun for your family!! You'll have to note exactly where you were and what time the kids figured something was up!!

I'd suggest calling the IPO and discussing some options with them. What we've done in the past is given the IPO some information (i.e., favorite characters) and a budget. They'll shop for the surprises (generally the day before or morning of your arrival) and charge the purchases to your credit card. I know the shoppers we've had at AKL always did an awesome job!

Just wanted to join the "our trip is almost here" party! We will check in to the Polynesian CL next Thursday. I am sooo excited, it is not funny. We are very much looking forward to spending Christmas in Disney.
