Hi. We are doing a split stay between AKL concierge and YC concierge, we are getting closer to our arrival date and have not heard anything from either of the resorts concierge staff.

Should I be worried? Do they normally contact you before your arrival?

thank you.

Most of the time, they make the first contact--AKL's IPO is particularly good about that. However, sometimes they slip up (YC "forgot" me once). Definitely send an email tomorrow, at least introducing yourself. Put your last name, arrival date, and ressie # in the subject header.

If you need them to make Magic express ressies or dining arrangements, you need to contact them soon. Emails for IPO's are on the first page of this thread.

Here right now, BWI club, and I don't think I'll be able to go back to non-club ever again. :rotfl2: It's so nice having that extra level of service and this deluxe room is so awesome with four people. We're not under each other's feet at all. ;)

Thanks for the live trip report. Please keep us posted. I'm wondering about the new evening offerings. Could you let us know what they're currently serving? I know it's from Kouzzina. My family and I will be there in 25 days or so and my husband and son are picky eaters. I hope the appetizers are ok, but if not, it'll be fine. We have the meal plan too.

Enjoy your stay and keep in touch.:goodvibes

we missed it the first night because we had dining ressies in France, but last night was humus, three cold salad things, which were orzo salad, something with olives, something that looked like taboulle (sp?). They had a couple of cheeses with crackers, blue cheese dressing with veggies, and two hot apps, which were scallops wrapped in bacon, and grapes leaves. Also apples with caramel and peanut butter jelly rollups for the younger set, although I did try both. :thumbsup2

Tonight they had most of the same things, but tonights hot apps were crab cakes and spinach in phillo triangles.

I would say that the cheese, and veggie dip were pretty standard. The cold salads may have been a little different. I really think everything is good, and looks homemade, especially the cold salads. My son was skeptical about the spinach in phillo, he thought they were factory made. :rotfl2:

They do keep bringing out different desserts during the cordial hours. They had chocolate covered strawberries last night that were yummy. :)

I can see why once you stay concierge, it would be hard not to. lol

i had a similar experience when we stayed club level at the boardwalk last december (during value season). i made my reservations etc... 180 in advance and they didn't get around to contacting me until a week before our trip. to me that isn't club level service since they can't get you into any table service places etc... at that late date. but i will say we had multiple problems regarding our stay there. when we were at the poly, contemporary, gf, and wl they always got in touch with us really fast both at peak/regular season as well as during value season. we should have known we were in for problems when we arrived and the first thing the boardwalk concierge did was complain to us that people should just stay home at that time of year (thanksgiving to christmas)... he wasn't in a very disney mood i guess.

Sorry to hear about your last stay, That would be hard to hear the CL cast member make that comment, they were stressed as well. It's strange how some trips go smoothly and others go so wrong. Your next one will be better, it has to right!!!:wizard:

I e-mail them yesterday had a few questions and a request for a full size crib. They were wonderful answered within a few hours. All my questions were answered and the full size crib was put on hold.

I made my own ADR even though my Dream Agent would have or the Concierge would have. I find I love the on-line process.

Dumb question, but it has been a few years since I stayed CL plus the valet rules have changed since then: Is valet parking included if you are staying Concierge level?

So at one point it was included in something, and I can not remember what it was. Was it the Dining discount card before TIW? Anyone? This is driving me nuts.
I know that DVC members use to get free valet parking at DVC Resorts, however that was recently taken away. So is what you were thinking of?

Valet parking has never been included when staying Club Level at Deluxe Resort.

Thanks! The last time that I stayed concierge it was with DVC when valet was included. So I wasn't sure if CL also provided valet. Oh well, it would have been nice...
