We have an AKV concierge reservation in October, and I requested the Wildlife Discovery Expedition and a dinner ADR. I have not heard back from AKV concierge, but our credit card has been charged for the tour. Is there a place on line that I could see if the dinner ADR was booked for me?

Thanks.
Bobbi

The IPO usually sends you a list of what they have booked for you when the reservations are made - that has been my experience @ the Poly a few times. They confirmed with me on my 180 days out that they made all my reservations (just a one-liner e-mail) and then a few days later they e-mailed our whole itinerary with all the confirmation #s.

I would get in touch with them to see what's what.

Thanks...I decided to send an e-mail to them and within an hour I received my reply. They appologized for not sending it out in April when it was booked...they got the ADR for us at Le Cellier.

Yippee for you! We have only stayed CL a few times, but it IS nice to have someone else make your ADRs! I hope your trip at AKV is great!

Bobbie, I hope you get a better docent for the wildlife discovery tour than we had last January. Our bus driver was a better tour guide than our guide was!:confused3 We thought the whole exerience was pretty bland compared to the Sunrise and wanyama safaris.

We had a great guide last October. Sorry you didn't. We spent lots of time off the beaten track watching a giraffe family...the youngster was so curious, he stuck his head in the vehicle.

The Wanyama safari for us was more of a bust. Our vehicle broke down and we never got to the savannah with the giraffes, but they did take us into the animal barn. I didn't fare well with the dinner food, so we don't want to do that again.

However, DSis and I have a 4 night CL stay in April, and she wants to do it all...I will probably give Wanyama another chance then, just be careful about what I try. If this doesn't live up to what we had last year, I'll pass it up with DSis. I do want to do the Sunrise safari with her for sure.

We have the WDE booked for our trip in September- I'm going with my friend while our DHs are golfing. Looking forward to another great new animal experience!:thumbsup2

Bobbi, if you tell them of food sensitivity when you get to the dinner, they'll accommodate you at Jiko. I hd that issue, and it was really no issue at all. I just had to be careful not to take certain dishes, and they let me know what those were.

Have fun on the Wildlife Discovery tour! We've done the other two and I wanted to try that one sometime in the future but I just read it's being discontinued at the end of the year. :sad2:

Did I read correctly that the Sunset Safari, Wanyama Safari was
MORE OF A BUST????? I personally would be infuriated if I spent $170 per guest and it was "more of a bust???"

At $170 per guest, EXCLUSIVE OF TAX??????????????????
Are you kidding??? Sorry, I forgot "dinner" was included!!!Seems quite indulgent to me! But then again, I am a parent of terrific YOUNG ADULTS!!!!!!!!!
Wow, guess my TERRIFIC YOUNG ADULTS weren't indulged with Wanyama Safari at $170 per "pop" exclusive of tax!
Its probably about $182 or $183 per person????????????????????????????

GUESS THERES NO RECESSION AT DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!Does anyone else think thats expensive??????????????

Different strokes for different folks as they say!!!!!!!!

Wow, safari tours must be a good business at AK!!!!!!!

Ahhh, please don't take things so hard. I got SICK and it was a terrible night for us..it's great that we were in concierge because we got clean sheets/towels the next day. DH didn't get sick, so it probably was MY OWN personal reaction to some strange spices. I had no idea this was going to happen, so it's not something I could have told the chef about. I had eaten a meal at Jiko's once before and thought it was delicious.

I had a hard time with the truck transport on Wanyama....you had to stand to see...I'm not sure footed on my legs. There was a guest with crutches, and she managed better than I did. It's very bumpy.

DH and I enjoyed the sunrise savannah a lot and our Discovery Wildlife Expedition was exceptionally good. I think I am the only one who ever had a complaint about Wanyama, but that's what happened to me!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Sunrise Safari!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Is that expensive too out of curiosity?:goodvibes:goodvibes:cool1:

I'm guessing it's around $50-60. The breakfast was very good. There was a gorilla who welcomed us...don't know her name. That was the only character interaction. We did this a year ago in March.

The concierge should email you an itinerary.

Don't stroke out about it. It really IS worth the cost considering that if you ate at Jiko on your own, you'd likley spend more than half of that just for the dinner. The safari was magnificent when we did it, but I'm sure it is a bit of a crap shoot, since weather and availability of certain animals during your tour could effect it a great deal.

We loved the Waynama safari, and will do it again sometime in the future. We also loved the Sunrise (I think it was $60), and plan to do that again in the future as well. I'm sure we will try the WBD tour again too, even though our first shot at that was a bit disappointing.
