I am looking at booking concierge for a week next fall. Can anyone who has booked these rooms please help us out with the best value? we will more than likely be spending alot of time at the resort, not so much in the parks. We have 2 girls ages 9 and 8 so a pool or easy access is a plus! Children's activities, so-so. Thank You!:goodvibes

Hi,

Disney Club Level (what they used to call Concierge Level) do not have scheduled children's activities to my knowledge. It should also not be looked at from a value point of view. The food offerings and IPO services will not make up for the difference in price between a "regular" room and a "club" room. Most of the main pool areas at the resorts have scheduled activities for children and they are usually posted on a board in the main pool area. If you book the club level at the AKL then you are eligible to be able to book the Sunrise Safari which the two girls would enjoy. They also have a Sunset Safari but I think there is an age limit unless you buy out the entrie safari.

Since you said that you plan to spend a lot of time at you're Resort, then you could take advantage of the continental breakfast from 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM, the various snacks that are in the lounge from 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM, the appetizers, wine and cheese selections from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and the cordials and desserts from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM. While others say the foods they offer at 5:00 PM do not replace a full meal you can get in a restaurant, well I think it's the opposite. Last month when my parents and I were staying on the Atrium Club Level floor at the Contemporary, we took full advantage of the foods at 5:00 PM and we were very full after eating them. So with that being said my parents and I think that the Concierge or Club Level service as it is now called is worth the extra money and I will say again if you plan to take advantage of what they offer, then you should go for it.

There are a couple of words that just don't go in the same sentence with Disney concierge and those are "worth" and "value".

In terms of choices, the following resorts all offer a club level:

CR
BWI
BC
YC
Poly
AKL
WL
GF

I'm not sure what you consider easy access to the pool. If you mean not having to go up the elevator or through the main lobby, then the Poly or GF's Sugar Loaf would probably be the best options. They're separate buildings that house concierge and you can step out the front door and be around the corner from the pool. All the resorts do offer some type of kids activities, usually centered around the pool in the afternoon. The only resort that offers something exclusively to club level guests is the AKL. They have a sunrise safari that is only open to AKL concierge guests.

You may want to research the actual resorts a little further and pick something that would fit with your specifications. After that, you can decide whether booking a club level room would be worthwhile to you. It's nice having the lounge for snacks and cold drinks if you're hanging around the resort a majority of the time. One other consideration with the club level, is that the view may be a request only. If you want to stay around the MK, that could be especially important to you.

I think that the OP would also like to know if she and her family would stay either on the Atrium Club or Tower Club of the Contemporary, it's a very quick elevator ride to the lobby and a quick turn to the left by the automatic doors which take you to the pool. However if you don't want to stay on a Club Level floor that is in a main building like the Contemporary, then Tammi is right about the Hawaii Longhouse at the Polynesian and Sugar Loaf at the Grand Floridian being located very close to the pools at those Resorts.

We just spent a week at AKL Concierge level. It is an excellent choice if you're planning on spending a lot of time at your resort (like we did).

You get a Savannah View, giraffe's, zebras and all sorts of african animals right outside your balcony.

Request a room close to the pool and it's a short evelator ride away. (We did.) The pool area is wonderful. They have lots of activities going on.

They also have quite a bit more food out during the day than the average concierge level.

I loved our CR Concierge stay. But for resort "hanging", AKL is much better.
