Concerned - I made a mistake booking the Fort. - update: Now I'm thrilled!

We went for the first time last year and we are IN LOVE! The Fort is our favorite place right now, it is just wonderful! I cannot wait until our next trip.:hippie::dogdance:

Just another agreement that the problems and annoyances are few and far between. Last year at Christmas the loudest thing we heard in the evenings was the sleigh ride going by in our loop.

In case you are into reading blog posts, here are mine from our visits over the years - there are a few pics here and there of the pathways and loops and how (not) congested they are:

So peaceful and quiet! You are going to love it! Stayed there twice and never experienced any of that!
You are going to have a magical time!

We did a 10 day trip in a pop-up camper awhile back. On the weekend, a large group came in on Friday night, setting up late at 11pm and very noisy. Was very surprised Disney allowed check-in so late.
Their second night, the group was loud until 2am. My husband complained along with 4 other people from our loop, nothing was done that night but we were given one night refund.

Fortunately, the group was only there two nights and the rest of the trip was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. The campground is beautiful.

I would think in a motorhome, the chances of this kind of disruption would be much less bothersome than in a tent or pop-up.

Last winter, we encountered loud, rude teenagers at Port Orleans Riverside after midnight, banging on doors and chanting. So rude people can show up anywhere, not just the campground. Go enjoy the campground!

We've stayed at the Fort every year for the past eight years and each trip is typically minimum ten days. Same comment here as everyone else has said, never had any issues while in the Fort. The only issue I think you could have is if you wanted to stay at a lot of different WDW Resorts over the next couple of years. I say this because if you're like us, once you stay at the Fort you get hooked and never ever want to stay anywhere else!

I have stayed at the Fort for about 15 times during the last 8 years and I have only had one negative comment to ever make while at the Fort and it wasn't the Fort's fault really. Our site stunk...lol. When we were outside at our site, the smell was terrible. After a couple of days of smelling that the instant we exited the RV, I called and a maintenance CM came. It took him about 10 minutes to show up after me calling to report, very quick in my opinion. When we came back from the parks that same day, the smell was gone. I think our neighbor didn't have it done correctly, the hook up to the sewer or something.

But that has been the ONLY issue we have ever had and we have been there Spring Break, July 4th and at Halloween multiple times.

I'm here now and our site is lovely! The two families across from us (I swear they had 20 kids) just left. I'm glad I came....now if we could please get some warmth!

If you are unhappy with the weather give it another 15 min. you are in Florida it will change

Agreed, just give it a few minutes. Glad it's looking good for you.

Hey, we have a post a picture of your site thread. Would love to see your site on there (hint hint)

Use the "Upload a file" option at the bottom just to the right of the "Post Reply" button. If you are using your phone it will allow you to pull a picture from your gallery. If using your computer, you can select it from your library. It needs to be no more than 1.2MB, I usually have to resize my pics if I take them with my camera but the phone pics do really well.

When it finishes uploading, you'll see a small version of it at the bottom of the post. Before posting the reply, click on the show full size button to the right of the picture so it will show up in full size. Use this thread to practice with some pics if you like.

Were is the post a pic of your site thread? I can't seem to locate it/

If you come by my site 104 today or thursday or pm me your site number i will show u how to post pix.

Got to agree with this. Totally different atmosphere than the resorts. Relaxing and quiet.
Great for bike riding or walking.

Hey Boopuff,

Looks like you got settled in pretty well. Hopefully you're out seeing all that the Fort has. And you even get to meet the DIS emeritus, the world famous Mr Ed.
