If we still take our Dec trip we will be there over Christmas and was hoping to have a few gofts for the kids to open. I know you can't wrap stuff, but with the way your luggage can be gone thru I am worried about new toy items being "lost" or flat out taken if our stuff s checked. I am afraid if I put the items in my carry-on the kids will see them during the security check. Is it risky to mail ahead to the resort? I mean, the package could be sitting there a day or two ahead of us and WDW would not be responsible....wgat have others done?
Thanks,

Pam

I would mail it ahead. Get insurance, so there will be proof that it was delivered.

I would go with the mail. I know lots of people have done this with no problem.

Call the resort to see how they want the pkg addressed. Usually they want it addressed c/o the resort, with your check-in date prominantly marked on the outside of the box. Be sure to use the same name on the pkg as on your ressie.

I would also decorate your shipped box in such a way that it would be easy to find. Put some stickers or something on it so you can say for ex. it's the box with the Sponge Bob stickers on it. I am sure they have lots of boxes shipped in and then yours would stand out.

Thank you everyone....I think that is what we will do, or celebrate early at home since many gifts are WDW related and can be enjoyed during our stay...but will still have a few special items for the 25th.

We're bringing some gifts down for the kids, but they are inexpensive, so will put them unwrapped in checked luggage. If they were expensive and small, I'd carry-on. Otherwise, I would do as you and the others wrote -- and mail to the hotel, after calling to make sure I had the address and details correct, or open at home. Like the recommendation to put lots of stickers on any box you send!

Have a great trip!!!

In light of recent reports about the TSA stealing items from checked luggage, I would be inclined to send them UPS or FedEX or USPS, regardless of how much they did or did not cost.
