:confused3We just signed a 150 point contract for SSR on 02/17. We are waiting for ROFR. We paid $66 a point for this contract and wanted to ask if you all think this is too much to pay for this contract? It came with all of 2010, 2011 & 2012 points. We pay closing and MF. Please let me know because I see so many contracts that are going for less than $66 a point. This is our first contract and we are thrilled to being going home soon!:confused3

I would stay with what you have unless there have been some serious issues with the seller -- and even then, you would face consequences if you backed out now.

First of all, let's look at where you are right now. You have a contract with full points purchased at a fair price, which is halfway through the purchasing process. You have made a deposit, presumably of about $1000 or more, which you will lose if you back out now. You should be closed and making reservations in another couple of weeks.

Yes, it might be possible to buy SSR for less than $66. But that would be offset by the loss of your deposit, and then you'd face the whole uncertainty struggle for another 8 weeks or so.

I would not be focusing on the fact that one or two other buyers got a lower price. I can't tell you how many posters we've seen here over the years who shot themselves in the foot trying to squeeze every last penny out of some deal.

I would be focusing on the many years of use of your contract and the value that would bring to your family. A purchase like this is for the longterm value it brings to your family, not for the momentary "love of the deal."

I think you got a good deal and think you will be very happy with your purchase. As pp stated there are a few people that may pay less and there will be people that pay more.

Good luck passing ROFR. :thumbsup2

Seeing as how we paid more than $30 more per point when we bought direct a few years back.........I think you got a very good deal. A lot of the cheaper contracts are for more points, or the owners have used all the current points as well as next year's points. Please feel good about what you're getting. And make some plans to use those points!

You might have gotten the seller to go abit lower, but still it's a fair price for a loaded contract. I'd stick with it at this point.

Don't second guess yourself now. i would say you got a very good deal. I purchased back in 2003 and paid $79/ppt and just did an add-on last year and paid $98/ppt. So, you did much better than a lot of us. Good luck with the closing!! Great deal from my standpoint! And personally I don't regret the price we have paid either. We use our points every year and enjoy every minute of it!

You will almost always see a better deal after you buy and can not stress yourself out about it.

I think your contract is a good deal. Have there been ones that went for less? Sure...but there have also been ones that went for more.

Good luck!

$96/pt in 2005, here

You can have the $30/point, as I have 5 more years of priceless memories! :cool1: :woohoo:

I got one of those "great" deals on a SSR contract, but what you do not see on the ROFR thread is how many of my offers were rejected before I finially got that great price. Yes, you may pay a little more than others, but you didn't spend months waiting for the right one to come up. It's a trade off. You still got a great deal and will be able to make your first ressies soon! :thumbsup2

I would definitely stay with it! You might have been able to get it a little lower but in the long run it's not going to make much difference and it could cause a big delay while you wait for the right contract to come up again. I say just enjoy it! :goodvibes

:worship:Thanks so much for making me feel better. I was looking at the list of contracts on the ROFR list and just got myself alittle flipped out! We have been thinking about purchasing an SSR contract for 3 years now and have finally taken the plunge! I have been so excited I can hardly stand it. Waiting for ROFR is the worst! We should hear something by next week! :cheer2:

Best wishes! You know, we bought SSR for $74 just 1 1/2 years ago. We don't regret buying it at that price, we're happy with the memories those points have given us already!
