Concerned about refurbs and closures in Feb 2010

Good morning, I have been doing some internet research for a trip I am planning in February 2010, and I can't seem to find information on closures in February.

1st though I know not to attend the week of February 15th as this is a busy holiday week, so probably best to attend shortly after that (the week of Feb 22nd 2010).

2nd I know that some rides close for a month to take down christmas decorations (like HM and IASW)....but I don't think this affects my travel time.

What I really want to know is, at this point, what else is a 'regular-yearly-closure' for maintenance and such...for example, maybe every year they close Splash Mountain for a week for painting.

Finally, any new ride's coming down the pipeline that might be opening near that time (like last august was TSMM).

THANKS!

:woohoo:

ps. must ride rides are :

HM, IASW, SM, POTC, SM, ToT, TSMM, IJA

:scared1:

Two main concerns is the Haunted Mansion and Small World which go dark for changing from Holiday to regular look. Others can give you some historic data on that matter. February has President's day and Valentine's Day to consider. Currently the only closure that are set in stone are the Corn Dog Castle, the souvenir shop next door to that place, possibly Pizza Oom Mow Mow, Orange Stinger.

Rivers of America is scheduled for a once-every-5-years cleaning and maintenance in the Winter time. This would close the Mark Twain, Columbia, Canoes, Rafts, and Pirates Lair. A lot of us were surprised by the summer time closure of Snow White for example. DCA is running close to schedule but for other stuff it is to soon to tell.

The Rivers of America maintenance would also close Fantasmic from the mid-January 2010 to April 2010 time frame.

Being Disneylands 55th anniversary,I hope they get their act together.
I highly doubt they will go gang-busters like they did for the 50th.:sad1:

FYI the holiday overlays come down at the end of the first week in Jan. :)

Ok. Y'all are freakin' me OUT!!!!!!!! :scared::headache:

We're planning on going (tentatively) the 1st week of February.
I thought HM & IASW would already be done w/ their refurb?????? HM is really the only one I care about bc we missed it last time. Say it aint so....please??

Also we haven't done Rivers of America at all (me since I was a child)....it's down for SURE?????

AARRGGH!! Last time i was bummed HM was down....now it seems ROA too.... ::SIGH:: :sad1:

I wish the rides i didn't care about were down.....

Sorry for the bad news. That is how it goes with Disney parks. Yesterday Peter Pan, Triton's Carousel and Redwood Creek were closed plus other stuff. We gather info from CMs and corporate documents like building permits then that gets published online and then we all take that info and share it with other sites which share with even more people. Word of mouth but I try to check my sources and use reputable sites.

As of right now only DCA is even close to being set in stone as to what will happen in any month. Overlay removal is based on guestimates of past overlay removals while Rivers of America being down I cannot remember the source for that one.

IIRC, wasn't IASW and HM down well into mid Feb this year? I seem to recall a lot of surprise being expressed as to what as going to take them so long to refurb those rides beyond the normal removal of the holiday layover. Nowadays with Disney, you just never know...

IASW was because they were not only removing the holiday layover, but adding - eek - all the Disney characters to the attraction. It was not the layover removal that took so long, it was the completion of the 8 month refurb.
