Concerned about afternoon ECV availability.

When you rent the ECV, they will be happy to keep your wheelchair for you. When you return the ECV, they will return your wheelchair. I used to use a rollator to get to the park and then rent a scooter. They always kept my rollator for me.

We decided to rent disney ecv for our AK Day. We planned on using the parking lot wheelchairs to get to rental area. No wheelchairs. My daughter and her boyfriend went to rental area where they were told it was too early for wheelchairs in parking Lot! Thry did give them a couple to use for us. Guess handicapped folks don't get up early... just a warning.

More likely all the complimentary wheelchairs in the parking lot had been used to get to the gate but not yet returned out to the parking lot. It happens frequently.

Thank you for your input. When last we went, availability of the wheelchairs from the parking lot were hit-and-miss. Mostly miss. The possibility of not having availability from the parking lot, makes me think it's a good idea to bring our own wheelchair as a back-up even though we plan to rent an ECV from Disney once we're in the parks. I was second guessing myself whether it is worth the trouble, but my gut says it's the way to go. That way we're assured of having it from the parking lot or if the ECV are sold out.

Don’t know for sure, but I think they probably meant it was to early to have returned the wheelchairs to the parking area that had been used that morning to get from parking lot to the park entrance.

It’s always been pretty hit or miss.
We don’t need one because our daughter has her own manual wheelchair, but I always try to check. Depending on where in the parking lot you are, they may be quite a hike and not too easy to find.

No they were emphatic that they had not yet gotten around to putting them out. But happily gave my daughter two. We were there before park opening.

Rent another vehicle, split up the group, and rent the ECV offsite.

The other alternative is to split up the group, some take a rideshare to and from the parks while the others take the car with the off-site ECV.

I would not "hope" all the logistics you are going to encounter work out when there are workable solutions for a few extra $$$.
