Concerned about a late ADR at 'Ohana

We have a 9:30 adr at 'Ohana. What "time" does the restaurant close? Should I be worried that the food will be less spectacular or our experience less "magical" that late in the evening?

I am going to keep calling back to try & get an earlier adr, but if not, has anyone ever tried walking up earlier? We are a family of 4.

Thanks,
Jennifer

I was wondering the same thing. I call everyday and the earliest ADR for week of Dec 17 it 9:25pm every night. Thought it might be less fun that late at night.:confused3

dw and I had 9:20 adr at O'hana last October. We didn't get in until 9:40. If I remember right, they went up till 10:00 with ADRs, and everybody who had an ADR got in.

The food was still spectacular. Our waiter was great. The experience was magical.

The only disappointment was that we really struggled to gorge ourselves to the level we wanted to.

If you can get it earlier do it. If you can't embrace it and enjoy it.

One fun aspect was that we were staying at POR. When we were done eating, we took the Monorail over to the MK entrance to get to the shuttle.
It was nearly 11 p.m. and MK entrance area looked like a ghost town!

I would keep trying for an earlier time for a couple of reasons. We had a late ADR last year at 'Ohana and they did not have any of the kid's activities going on (our ADR wasn't even that late... I think it was around 8:30 or 9:00). Also, by the time we got out to the monorail they had stopped service going back to the MK for us to get a bus back to our resort so we had to wait for an extraordinary amount of time for a bus to DTD (and the bus ride to DTD always seems to take FOREVER to me...) and then of course catch another bus back to our resort. I just don't want to deal with the hassle again. Otherwise I don't mind the actual late dinner times (we are from California, so it's not too late for us to eat).

I appreciate the responses so far, I am giving this a bump for some daytime responses.

We love 'Ohanas and eat there every time we are in WDW. The reasons I would try to get an earlier seating would be we just don't like eating that much food that late. I am not sure what time they stop the entertainment, but that also adds to the experience.

I would try to get something earlier if posssible - you can even call that morning or depending on where you are and what your other plans are for that day, show up a few minutes before they open and there might be a chance they will be able to sit you.

We went 2 years ago when they first instituted the DDP and didn't know we'd have such a hard time getting a reservation somewhere when we checked in at our hotel. The only time the CM could get us was at 9:45pm. We spent the day in EPCOT and waited a long time for the monorail to get to the Poly and almost missed our ADR but made it in time. Like the other poster stated, it was hard to eat that much at such a late hour, especially after being in the parks all day. There weren't any activities going on but the food, what we ate of it, was still good. My DH loves that type of food, so he was disappointed he couldn't eat more of the meats on the skewers.

I'd keep trying to call back and see if there are any earlier openings, seating 4is generally easier to seat, but if not, keep your ADR, I think O'Hana is worth it.

Enjoy either way!:)
