Concept Art posted for Poly DVC Bungalows & Villas!

I guess the studios don't have balconies or do they? And I heard they have an extra drawer for anybody staying in GFV studios to use if they don't mind the walk:rotfl2:

I think all the rooms in the longhouses that were Tokelau and Tahiti have balconies. The original longhouses that will remain regular hotel rooms do not have balconies at every level, though, if I remember correctly.

Of all the questions being asked, I am surprised that no one has begun to speculate on 7-month availability. When complete, 360 studios will be quite the inventory.

Yep. Shouldn't be a problem booking at 7 months.

I just am very doubtful that this is a good design move by DVC. We'll do a studio now and then but prefer the 1 br's so Poly is rather a bust for us. The first designs that appeared with new buildings and a great feature pool had created interest for me that I hadn't planned so this is probably better for the pocket book.

I hadn't really thought about this until last night. Once I compared, say, BLT to the Poly, I realized just how many more studios the Poly will have. I was contemplating selling our VGF points, as it's just been a nightmare to get a studio even at 8 am 11 months out, to buy at the Poly, knowing those studios would be easy to get. The more I thought about it, though, VGF popularity should wane over the next few years, making it a bit easier to book and with that many studios at the Poly, booking one at 7 months should be relatively easy.

The way I see it the Poly may be the pressure relief valve for VGF. Particularly if they sell slowly.

If you already own and want to stay in a studio, I don't see the incentive to sell what you already own and pay more to buy more to buy into the Poly. With that many studios, I don't see the 11/7 advantage mattering as much when booking INTO the Poly.

Now if you buy into the Poly and want to book a 1BR/2BR/GV during a busy time, I see a lot of competition...

Absolutely, I'd only buy Poly if I knew I was going to be happy in a studio or if I could afford a guaranteed week in a bungalow.

I'm looking forward to so many studios being added to the MK area. It should make it a lot easier to get a studio in that area at the 7 month mark.

Agree, adding 360 studios can only reduce pressure on acquiring a studio. The poly studios will go fast at 7 months though, especially early on. Into the 7 month period you should also see more availability open up at other resorts as folks book poly. My guess is that it will open up 1 and 2 bedrooms in addition to studios as people try out poly and the connected studios. One other thing to consider is how much these poly studios are going to cost. It's going to be high, whether it's as higher than VGF is debatable but it'll at least be close. That should actually drive some folks away eventually after they have tried it out once.

Ken Potrock mentioned that one plus of having so many studios is that it will be easy to book any unused studios with cash reservations especially since the Poly is such a popular resort.

I am wondering if a combining two studios will be a guaranteed category? Many families are not interested in a kitchen but would prefer the kids sleeping in a separate room. But if it is not a guaranteed reservation, would they want to risk have two rooms with one in a different floor or worse a different building?

DVC will need to rethink the DVC laundry room. Usually they have two washers and 6 - 8 dryers, that sometimes means a line for the washers. With the Poly buildings only having studios that means long lines for the washers.

Many times have seen posts here in the DISboards that family's staying in studios just use inflatable mattresses for the extra family members that don't have beds. So I think studios have been sleeping five for a long time. Keep in mind not every studio will have five guests.

Tikiman has posted more than once that the rooms in the three DVC long houses are the largest rooms on the Poly property at 460 S.F. They will definitely be the largest DVC studios.

This is a very interesting point. 360 studios being added to the magic kingdom area. Everything is interconnected. VGF can be hard to get, but if you can swallow the points of a 1 bedroom, its normally not an issue.

Maybe the demand for VGF 1 bedrooms will go down. I think the VGF might has its point distribution changed eventually, because 360 studios are going to change things. It will be interesting to see what happens and it is fun to speculate.

Maybe so, but the original bathroom size has been enlarged. So the living area is smaller than it was originally.
