I stayed concierge at BWI, and they didn't have any perks for guests that the other concierges wouldn't have. It seems that AKL is the only one that has something "special" to offer its concierge guests.
If you haven't stayed concierge previously, you will experience restricted access to the rooms. I love that. You can have coffee, soda, wine when they are served in the concierge lounge. They offer the Wall STreet Journal and other newspapers for your use in the lounge. You can have your meals or shows arranged for you berore you get there if you tell them what you'd like.
It will be nice for you to have others to meet and greet in the lounge since you will be solo; that is if you even want to talk to other people. You may just want alone time.
I think AKL is a good choice for you. The lounge overlooks the lobby, so you are above all the action. There is a lot to do and see at this resort. It will be both relaxing and educational for you. There is a great bar in the lobby. CM's do tours of the lobby/resort. The CM's outside answer your questions about the resort, the animals or about Africa.
I am unsure about the availability of a spa there, but you may consider a resort with a spa if that is something that interests you. I think there is a workout room.
