Computer Savy people please HELP with a Epson Printer Problem

I changed the color ink cartridge on my Epson Color 800 printer and the color still does not print. I even bought another cartridge to be sure the one I had was not damaged and the newest one does not work either. HELP!


Any Ideas of what I can try?

Have you had any thunderstorms or power surges in your area? Sometime they can blow a control chip, the inexpensive surge protectors most of us use (including myself) really don't provide adequate protection.

go look in printer settings and be sure that your setting is not on draft or text only! I had this problem and we went through all kinds of trouble shooting only to discover we have color printing turned off in the settings.

Here a few suggestions you can try.

Have you restarted your computer? I know sometimes when my printer acts up and when I restart the computer then it works.

Is there a button on your printer acknowledging a new cartridge?
Or go to your printer settings and see if you can run a diagnostic test.

Also at the bottom of your screen in the task bar is the printer flashing? If it is click on that and you can check the tool box.

Just make sure there is nothing blocking the color cartridge.

Make sure there is no physical blockage of the color jets also. On one of our printers at work I had to clean the cartridge holder using alcohol soaked Q-tips until the caked up ink was removed.

Just get the cartridge holder to come forward, turn off the printer, remove the color cartridge and then clean the bottom of the holder.

The printer in question hadn't been used in a while and even the cleaning proceedure of the printer itself wouldn't unclog the jets.
