hopefully someone will know how to fix this.....Ever since my computer crashed and I reloaded everything...I haven't been able to get attachments in email (I have Win98 and Outlook Express 6).

The paperclip is there...but when I click on it the file thingy is there....but not dark.....so you can't click on it (hope that makes sense)

Anybody know if there is some setting I need to change in there??

Thanks
Lisa

Have you made any security updates to your programs recently?

It's entirely possible that based on your Internet settings, Outlook has restricted your access to email attachments. You can turn them off so it's not possible for your kids or other family members can't open mail that may have an attached virus. I don't know exactly in Outlook 6 where this is, I can look when I get home - look for 'attachment security' in your help file - that may find it.

Good to hear that it works now. The reason why I asked my question is because some security updates won't allow any attachments through (best way to not spread a virus)

How did you fix it? I came back from vacation and now almost all of my messages come with a notepad attachment of the email and I can't open other attachments that come. I am using Outlook 2000 SR-1 internet mail only security update. Wonder what the deal is?
Thanks
