Computer Question.... Please Help!

I'm hoping someone can give help me in regards to a computer problem I am having. For the past two weeks, my computer randomly freezes up while I am on the Internet. Just this morning, it froze up on me 3 times and I had to reboot the computer. I have Norton anti-virus and Ad Aware and have been regularly running those. I also have done error checking on my computer as well. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be and how to fix it? Thanks for your help!

Error checking? Did you run chkdsk?? And Norton and Ad-aware are both current and up to date? Windows updates all current?

Thanks for the quick reply... Everything is up to date and I did do the error checking already. I ran chkdsk this morning.

Does it only freeze up when you are on the internet?

Is it only after you have been on the internet for some time, or is it random throughout your surfing session?

Can you relate it to any certain site, or does that vary?

My computer only freezes up when I am on the Internet and it happens randomly. Yesterday, it didn't happen at all. Today, my computer froze up 5 or 6 times and I had to re-boot.

The sites.... It has happened a couple of times with Yahoo and Hotmail, but it seems to happen to various other sites as well.

Just a thought here. SOmetimes there are "bugs that creep onto your pc unbeknownst to you and your anti-virus or internet security software.
I like to goto www.pandasoftware.com and do what they call an ActiveScan. It won't interfere with your currect software, but rather acts in addition to it. It won't remove anything it finds so you must do it manually but it does tell you what it found and where it is located. Once you have that list it is a fairly simple thing to go into your registry and clean it up and out.

I finally was able to run a Panda scan and it says that I have 1 virus and 18 spyware... I can't get the screen to maximize and some of the wording is cut off. Does Panda identify what virus and spyware you have? How do you remove it?

Two Panda questions:

1. How do you get the scan window to open up large enough to read all of the text? The minimize and maximize buttons aren't working and the scan window does not open up large enough for me to read all of the text. (Can't tell where the virus and spyware are.)

2. Are there directions on how to remove the spyware/ virus or do those of you who use Panda buy the disinfect program?
