Computer issue???

How come I can't open up a .mov file?? I can open an avi file, but not the other. Anybody help me???? Thanks!

Do you have Quicktime installed???

Yes, I do have quicktime. When I try to open it, all that comes up is a tiny little square in the upper left corner that has a little yellow triangle and red square in it. What am I doing wrong??

Try going to My Computer, click Tools, Folder Options, File Types. Scroll down to MOV extension and make sure it is associated with QT.

Is it something you downloaded off the net?

If so, alot of files won't work because they have been somehow corrupted.

It happens alot.

If its not, contact the manufacturer of the .mov you bought and have them refund you or a supply a new version.

Yes, it is something from USFSA.org. I want to watch some videop clips of the skaters competing at Skate America today. Some were in the .avi format and that worked out just fine. Went to go open the .mov and got zilch!! I guess I will have to wait and watch it on tv tomorrow afternoon. Thanks!!!

The same thing happened to me on my laptop. I still haven't figured out what happened, but in the meantime, I've been able to view Quicktime movies by dragging them into an open Internet Explorer window. It seems that IE can still manage to play QT movies even when I cannot open them directly.

And if you figure out how to fix the problem, please let me know.
