computer images question

whenever i save a picture to my hard drive it saves as a bitmap file. how do i fix it so i can save images as .img or .gif?

Change the format when the "Save As..." dialog box pops up.

...or save it as a bitmap, open it in MS Paint, and resave it as a .jpg or .img file.

this also seems to be a glitch when you don't clean out your temporary internet files. nothing other than cleaning them out and restarting will fix it when my computer refuses to let me save it as only bitmap.

try tools/internet options and then clicking the delete files button under temporary internet files. this might take a long time if you have not done this recently. then restart your computer. it should fix it.
