Can someone please help with a problem with DD laptop. She has had it back today as there was a problem with the power jack, now she can't even log on she wanted to completely wipe it but just keeps rebooting. Does anyone know if there is a key she needs to press to be able to log on.

Try pressing F8 key when the computer is loading up, it should then bring you to a scrren with options. Try logging in through safe mode & see if that will work.

Also a silly thing check there is no cd in the cd drive, as my laptop sometimes reboots if there is a cd in the drive.

Thanks Nikki but we have tried f8 she can't even get it to load in safemode it just keeps rebooting then this blue screen comes up and goes off before we have time to read it!!!

Not sure have you tried googling the problem? I have usually managed to find out what is wrong with my pc by doing this.

Doesn't seem likely from what you described but constant rebooting is often a sign of a virus

DH says try pressing F11 as it's booting up, which should take you to the restore options screen.

We had to use the set up disk and start from scratch. i have just finished restoring it hopefully it will be ok now. Thanks for the help
