surely if its your graphics card ,it would not affect the M/B unless it is integrated ,personally i would have bought a cheap G/C and tried it myself , and if it was it then bought the one i wanted.
I am sure if you asked about some of your friends would know someone who would take out your G/C and replace a new one for you if you did not want to do it your self.
