Computer games for a 9 year old??

We bought DS a new computer for Christmas and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what computer games we could buy for him. His old computer is running on Windows 95 so we have been able to buy any new games for him in a loooong time, since his computer is so outdated. So what kinds of games are the kids enjoying these days?

my son loooooooooooves yugio games (when he can get dad to share .

i'm thinking (for christmas) we will probably get 'wallace and gromit-cure of the wererabbit", the new "harry potter", and whatever sponge bob is out there. i know we have had success with some of the board games (monopoly, etc.).

My DS9.5 loves Yugioh, Monopoly, Baseball, Hockey, Card Games and Nick on-line games.

My DS is 4, so a little younger than your son, but he has some of the Hot Wheels Car games and both DS and DH enjoy playing them. They are racing-style games where the cars are all sized to same proportions as actual Hot Wheels cars. You can earn additional cars and new track layouts by successfully completing courses and by doing stunt tricks. DH just bought joysticks for the computer and it makes playing some computer games much easier.
