My former coworker was a compulsive overeater.
I just saw her this past weekend at a Fall festival.
Back in 95 she had gastric bypass. She had weighed over 300 pounds. After missing work for several months, she came back to work and we didn't even recognize her. She eventually got down to a size 6 or 8 and looked great.
However, she was a compulsive overeater who was not given any type of counseling about this before her surgery.
She now weighs more than she did before she had surgery.
She says that she's in counseling, plus she in Overeaters Anonymous. She's now trying Low Carb to lose more weight. She says food makes her happy. She would eat things just because she was bored. She said she gained about 60 pounds in one year alone.
She started with the counseling plus the low carb way of eating and has lost about 20 pounds, but she still has a long way to go. She's really upset with herself with gaining back all the weight from after the surgery, but she's not giving up this time.
