I love my Under Armour, but they have no pockets! Has anyone seen any? I don't understand why I can't find something like this?!? :confused3

Generally you are not wanting a pocket in most compression clothing due to rubbing/chafing issues. I know the CW-x has a key pocket in some models.

Have you tried a running skirt? They are compression shorts under a skirt (I find them to be more flattering, too) and they usually have a key pocket either in the shorts or the skirt part.

Some tri shorts also have a small external pocket on a leg, or at the back waistband. Can't think of brands...and at work so can't check directly.

OK, I think I found something. Race Ready Fitness Shorts. They appear to be compression shorts with mesh pockets on the backside. Has anyone tried these? They look stupid, but on the model pic they look great. I'm sure my booty won't have quite the same look. :lmao:

I have several of the popular running skirts and every single pair the shorts ride up on me and I chafe, even with body glide on. I do have a couple running skirts with the briefs and I have been wearing my Under Armour compression shorts underneath.

Has anyone tried the Race Ready running skirt? It says it has the compression shorts underneath.

I have a pair of Mizuno compression shorts with a small zip pocket on the back/near the waistband. I love them.

I have a pair of race ready shorts (not compression). They look horrible in the race pictures  but they are really convenient. You can also try a running belt. It is used to hold your number on without pins and it will hold gels in the band. I have a friend who uses a belt bag. It expands to put keys and ID in it but you wear it around your waist. http://ifitnessinc.com/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=10

Oy, you can tell I'm tired. I saw the thread title and thought "What women have pockets?" :rotfl:

Sleep, please be my friend tonight!!

I have a Race Ready running skirt that I wear for most of my half marathons. Plenty of room to hold my PowerGels, Camera, and either room key or car keys. I'm on the slightly larger size and have not had any issues with them. I do, however, still need to use some Glide on my big thighs to ward of chafing.

I would wear a running skirt or pair of shorts, etc. over the compression shorts. I am with Coach on this one - Compression shorts are all about being tight and you don't want anything to start chafing so other than a key, you can't put anything else on. I didn't have luck with any of the fitness belts so I either check everything at the beginning of the race or make sure that I am wearing one of the Nike Running shirts with the pockets in the back that allow me to carry everything that I need without any issues. Good Luck in your search! :)

On a different note....I've had the hardest time finding shorts that weren't compression shorts. Or when I did, they were teeny tiny running shorts. Neither of these are a good look for this size 12 girl. I've looked online, at sport stores, at big box stores, eBay, and so on.

Then one day last week, I passed the athletic shorts in the Men's dept. at Walmart. I thought "what the heck" So I tried a pair in medium and they fit perfect. They are cotton, elastic waist shorts with extra internal drawstring if needed, straight leg, very deep pockets and maybe a 7"-8" inseam. Perfect! :thumbsup2 And they were $5 to boot. I bought black, navy, dark gray, lt. gray, and blue.

I wear Under Armor compression shorts. They have several inseams available. I wear the 7" version. Then I top that with a Nike running skirt. It's actually their tennis skirt, but I prefer it over their running skirt. The tennis skirts don't have pockets so I use a spi-belt and love it. I've tried a few other skirts, but I haven't found one that I'm thrilled with. I can't bring myself to pay $70 for a skirt. I get my Nike skirts at TJMaxx or the Nike outlet for $20.

Have you tried skirt sports? They have a pocket on the outside right thigh that I can easily put my iPhone in (not a zippered pocket). With the skirt over it. No riding up for me.

Skirt Sports ride up on me. I have several styles. They used to make a skirt with a gripper on the legs, but stopped. I loved that skirt, but it has seen it's final days.

I guess I'll just use DH's Amphipod belt. It is better than my fuel belt in that I can take off or add bottles as needed and it doesn't bounce as much. I ordered the iphone case for it this morning and it also has a pocket inside it. I like using my handheld for short runs, but I always carry my phone with me when I run and I just don't have any pockets for it!

I love my Spibelt...got mine online and loved it so much I have bought more at expos. It hold a ton and doesn't bounce or rub! AND it doesn't look bulky like a fanny pack :thumbsup2

I too wear shorts over my compression shorts - I don't think the world needs to see my jiggle! and have found mens shorts to be the best for someone that doesn't want the leggs of my shorts crawling up. I have some nylon shorts (they dry quicker on my long runs) .

MinnieLor Cotton alone won't be a good wicking material if you are running/walking (working up any kind of sweat). Are they blended with anyhting?/reference wicking properties?

I know what you mean about the "short shorts" though. I wear Nike baggy running shorts (although they still only have a 4" inseam), but also found another pair of Nike shorts (no liner) that are longer.

Hope yours work out.

Maura

I have two pairs of the Race Ready shorts---the compression and the V-Notch shorts. I wore the V-Notch shorts during the WDW Half Marathon and carried my camera, iPod, clip on sunglasses and a chapstick in my shorts. I would recommend them to anyone!

Of course, once the sun came up, I was wearing the sunglasses! :cool1:
