Complimentary Room Issues

So today we booked our wedding hotel nights. We booked the 5th to the 10th, the group reservations woman told me we get a free complimentary room on our wedding night (the 8th) on the concierge level, but that we have to check out of our standard room the day of our wedding at 10AM and then check into the complimnetary room around 3. First off I thought this was wierd, they must do this all the time, but how could I possibly find the time to pack, check out, check in, and unpack all on my actual wedding day, when the ceremony starts at 230!? Futhurmore Beaute Speciale is coming to my room at 8AM to 1PM to do my hair and all my bridesmaids, if I won't have a room from 10-3 what am I suppose to do? I'm very confused! Am I missing something? Should I just cancel the complimnetary room so I don't have to move everything on my wedding day and not be able to have a room to get ready in?

Thanks!

You can move the comped night to a different night. We are gonna use our comped room our last night. Just talk to your planner.

We did not use our comp night on our wedding night. We we married on a Monday and did not use it that night. Tuesday night we attended MVMCP with about 10 of our friends and I did not want to use it that night either as I wanted to use our special night and stay at the resort the whole time. We used our comp night on Wednesday night.

As the other posters have said you can use your comp night on another night. I gave my comp night to my dad so that he can have his own room the night before the wedding since his room will be filled with girls getting ready. :rotfl:

Do only Wishes brides get a comped room? I haven't heard of this before for some reason....

Only Wishes/Couture brides get it because it's the "reward" for meeting the room-night minimum required for Wishes/Couture weddings.

We used ours for the last night of our honeymoon - it was much easier that way, and we got to look forward to a stay at the Grand Floridian.

I moved my comp room to the room we had booked in the GF, we had booked a lodge tower room for three nights. When we got there they had upgraded us to the main building on the concierge level for the whole three nights. So we got some pixie dust :cool1:

We were staying at the Boardwalk Villas using DVC points. Since we didn't want to go through the hassle of having to check out and check back in, we spoke to our Wedding Coordinator before we signed our contract. Our contract stated that since we were not using the comp night, we would be credited with the amount of one night stay at the deluxe resort in our room block. So when we got our refund back for our deposit, it had that amount added in.

We didn't have the complimentary room for a night but we did have an unfortunate experience at the hotel and we were made to check out of our room on our wedding day. The only thing we got from the hotel for this was an extended check out time of 1pm just as I was due to be picked up from the hotel by the limo. It was only after I explained to them how upset I was about this did they change the time, if they hadn't we would have had to have checked out at 11am and had no room to get ready in. Hair and make up were with us from 9.30am til 12pm and Randy was there from 11.30am so we would have struggled to check out. Also there was no room for us until 3pm, 1/2hr after we would be getting married. I found this a HUGE disappointment especially as the staff had a "couldn't be bothered" attitude.

If you can try to move your complimentary night. What was supposed to be a relaxing morning was spent picking up things around the room and making sure we were all packed up. Also we had to get our baggage picked up and then put in storage for us during the day.
Looking back at it now it was funny joining the back of the queue at reception desk in my dress to check out, but at the time it was additional stress I could have done with out.

Me & my bridesmaids checking out of the POFQ.
