Don't know where to post this, so feel free to move it

Ok- here is what I have so far

Mon 6/18/07- leave home to arrive at MCO :yay:
Sun 6/24/07- Disney Cruise :cloud9:
Thu 6/2/07- Go home :furious:

So we are going to stay at the GF for our Disney portion, which right now is Mon-Sun. However I do want to go to Universal for at least one day

I am debating on weather or not to spend the first night at Universal, or just make a day trip from Disney :confused3

I know if you stay on-site at Universal, you have front of the line access, where you have to pay for it if your not a guest.

I am not renting a car, so am not sure on the easiest way to do this

Honestly I don’t think the hassle of packing and moving you stuff is worth front line at Universal...Plus you’ll have to pay for the cab plus luggage when you move to GF anyway….The lines are never more then an hour...and it really doesn’t take all day to do a universal park (either the original or IOA)....I'd stay at the GF and take a cab/bus over...

you can take a taxi from the gf to universal or book a mears shuttle tour to universal. we did this a few years ago & it was like $40. universal was really crowded when we went but was a fun day. congratulations & happy disneymoon!

Is it doable to do both universal parks in one day?

you can do both in one day although having the front line passes makes it alot easier. i have been to universal many times and the most enjoyable and relaxing was when we had the passes. if you are going to try to squeeze both parks in on one day, i suggest getting the hotel speed passes. it most certaintly is not necessary, but everyone i know who has gotten the passes say that there is no other way to do it. hth :smooth:

Sounds like a nice looooong trip with a great resort and DCL!!

Just FYI, Universal sells Front of the Line Passes, if you want to work that into your budget to fit more in. Doing both parks in one day depends on what you like. Are you big thrill ride people?

Thank you :teeth:

My problem has been we have been engaged for a year, and still have a year until the honeymoon, so we have already been all around the world, and ended up at Disney :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I just keep coming up with different ideas, I just wish they would release the 2007 packages so I could book and not get anymore ideas :stir:

Why don't you pick your resort and book a base package than. (Room + mini golf for free). They set it up as a package so you put down the $200 deposit and than can easily upgrade to any of the package options as soon as they come out.

I went to AAA to do that. I was told I could book the room and tickets as a package, just could not add dining plan yet :confused3 So I did that and put the $200 down, when I got home I figured out how much they package would be using 2007 rates, minus the AAA discount and using the 2006 ticket rates, I came to within $35, figuring it was just an increase in ticket prices. About 1/2 hour later, I get a call from the AAA rep to inform me she just got the fax confirmation and it was for a room-only reservation at rack rate :rotfl2:

Be careful, if she did room only, than you should be charged 1 night deposit (not $200). You want to book a base package to hold everything and that is a $200 deposit.

Hmm I think I have you beat on a complex honeymoon! :yay:
:goodvibes
We're getting married 9/9
Flying from Philly to Vegas 9/10
Flying from Vegas to Disneyland 9/12
Flying from Disneyland to Vegas 9/13
Flying from Vegas to Philly 9/17
:goodvibes
Back home...

We're from Delaware and have never been to Disneyland. With airfare getting so epensive it would easily cost $400 for a flight from Philly to California so we're taking advantage of the southwest specials and making a hop over to DL.

It took a little while to talk my guy into it .... but I won him over! :woohoo:

Yes, disneygal358, you do have me beat. Too much flying for me though- I like to take off-land, vacation, take off-land. no stops for me :lmao:

We got engaged last August at Disney also :goodvibes

you didn't happen to be the couple we saw waiting for the bus from MK to CBR? Same situation as us, got engaged during wishes a couple of days earlier, best friends were dating each other? popcorn::

My guy proposed during Illuminations actually... he totally caught me off guard!! It's really funny. We've gone back to look at the pictures of our trip and in almost all of them you can see a bulg in his pocket. He carried the ring around with him the entire trip waiting for the perfect moment and then proposed the last night at Illuminations. It was very romantic!

As for the honeymoon.... we picked Vegas and had everything lined up for a week there and then I started wondering what the distance to Disneyland would be. When I found $54 airfare on southwest it got me very excited. So I told him we were going to fly over and spend 2 days and 1 night in Disneyland. He is very excited also. (He is a converted Disney-a-holic)

For my birthday in October (30th) we're going down to Disney World for a short trip. I want him to experience the halloween party and the food and wine festival. It's only a Friday - Monday trip but I'm very excited. It was also a great deal I found online (airfare, rental car and hotel - offsite obviously) for $300 each. Not bad when you figure airfare for us to Florida is usually $200 each.

Well ... we'll be eatting mac and cheese and bread for the first year of our marriage but I've just got to get that Disney fix in... gotta have priorities you know?

I had the ring in my pocket all day (just the first day, NO WAY was I going to have that thing burning a hole in my pocket for another day) I might have felt my pocket 50 times that day. I just kept using the excuse I was feeling for my phone (which was in her backpack)

We looked at going to California for our honeymoon (with a stop at Disneyland of course :goodvibes ) She also suggested Vegas, she's never been, I've been twice. I wanted to go to Disneyworld since the start, she wanted to go somewhere else. It took a trip to Six Flags NJ a couple of months ago for her to agree to Disney :wizard: I figured since her first trip was the time I proposed, we might as well make the second trip our honeymoon :cloud9:
