completely OT but hoping someone computer knowledgable can help

I realize this is the DISigns section and I apologize if it makes anyone upset. I can delete the contents of this or a mod can remove it.

I really want to get my computer running properly again. I'm hoping since there's many people here with great software knowledge, that someone can answer my hardware (hd installation) question. I posted it on the budget forum. It just didn't seem to fit any of the forums and that seemed the most relevant.

If you could take a little time to read it to see if you know the answer, I would be most appreciative.
