Ok Everyone I am completely lost and need some advice from current and past brides. I booked my wedding in Sept. for Jan 2011. I finally just heard from my planner last week or rather from her assistant. Everytime I email her I get the out of the office auto response. I filled out as much of the planning packet that I could but without her responding to my questions I cannot finish it. I feel like nothing is getting done should I be calling the Disney Photographers myself or the florist? I booked my reverand and my hair dresser but I am lost as to what to do now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I feel like my hands are tied is everythng always this slow or do I just have a bad planner?

First of all, congrats! Second, please breathe :) I know your wedding is soon but it usually is this slow, they are very busy this month and it usually does take (at least for me) 1-2 weeks for a response.

Your florist will send you a planning sheet seperately from your planner, and then when you do your planning session (either in person or over the phone) you will go over all of the details with the florist. The photographer (if you're using Disney) is booked through your planner- you don't actually speak to the photographer themselves until relatively close to, if not the day of, the wedding.

If you have questions about the planning packet, feel free to ask us. A lot of these brides are a wealth of knowledge :goodvibes

agreed. it takes alot more time than it seems like it *should* but DFTW is a machine and they will get to you. really, the forms are very basic and there will be multiple revisions in your future. even the planning session wasn't what i expected in terms of "making decisions". nothing really "happens" till kind of within that ~8 month window (i know the timelines have moved up but still) anyway so try and go with the flow and maybe ask question over here!

Thank You ladies that is probably more information then I have gotten so far from anyone else. I keep hearing from everyone how busy Disney is this month but I feel like they should at least have some kind of time for each bride. Here are some more questions that maybe someone can answer. About how far out from the wedding date will I hear from the Florist? I see muliple posts on here about people requesting certain Disney photograhers & locations how are they doing that? How long does it take to get the cake video and the song list? I am kinda feeling like this is crazy for the amount of money I am spending not to be able to get any answers from Disney. I appreciate everyones help.

I know how you are feeling but I also know, at least in our case, Disney actually did contact us in exactly the time frames described in the LOA and various timelines given to us along the way. It often feels like *they* are going yo slow or everyone else is getting more sooner, but when I would go back to the initial contact timelines I would se that, indeed, they were spot on. Which is frustrating and we are paying lots of money but apparently this is how this particular animal lumbars along!!

We had a couple of talks initially with the sales person. She even did sone research on things that gave us some ideas but honestly it was almost like starting from scratch with the planner. We talked I think on the phone once before the planning session. I did not talk or gear from a florist until we net ours at the planning session. The cake file and cd arrived around the time of our planning session papers but not before. And it's a totally nondescript envelope. What is contained in the cake files can be found on line. It's only pictures of cake stylesvworh little other info. Once we had the LOA I think my DF contacted DPS to request a photog but again that's all around the 8 month mark for us. And I do mean at 8 months or LESS. It wasn't within the 8 month it was in the 7 month!

Hang in there!!

It deff. does take them time to get back to you, and that I have heard from everyone. Does your planner have an assistant? When I email my planner, I also email her assistant, and her assistant is usually the one who gets back to me. Although it make take a while for me to get answers, I usually always hear back pretty quickly at least acknowledging that they have received me email and are looking into my question, which I really appreciate. You have not received the cake C-D or the wedding pavilion music C-D yet? My wedding is June 2011 and I got it in August... however since you didn't book until Sept. it might just be taking them a while. It seemed like once I signed my LOA it took like two months before I actually got the ball rolling (got a planner, STD sent out, got the C-D's etc.) Since your wedding is so close though I would think they would hurry up the process. Are you having a planning session? I think you will get a lot of your questions answered then, and I don't think you typically talk to a florist until then. Good luck, and I know it can be stressful but Disney is great at what they do and it will all work out! pixiedust:
