I'll be coming in for a business meeting and have one afternoon/night completely free. I've been plenty of times with the family but I've never thought what I'd do alone... Where would you go, what rides, what restaurant if it was just you???

I would go to EPCOT, and try the wine cellar in Italy. Spend the day walking around and enjoy the view. I would also take time to take some pictures of those things that I love about Disney.

I too would go to EPCOT. I would spend time looking at all the things my kids never let me stop and enjoy!

I would do Epcot, WS, no rides, but catching some shows, eating sushi and ending night with Illuminations.

Traveling solo every now and then is a fun treat! I can do what I want, when I want - so I tend to go loosy-goosy and not make too many plans. However, I do take the time to do some of the things I particularly like, but my family doesn't. I know it's corny, but I love the Country Bears and Tiki Room - so when I travel alone, those are musts for me. :goodvibes

For meals, I tend to eat counter service - I have found that with table services, most servers decide you need a best friend since you're travelling alone - and I would prefer just normal friendly service. (Although bringing a book to read while dining helps!)

Have a fun trip!!

Have an AP, so I would do Epcot to ride Soarin' and have some good food. If the MK was open late I might also go there to finish the night.

I just spent a week alone in the Orlando area while making sure my daughter settled in at a College in Lakeland. I went to DHS, MK, and Epcot alone. I had the best time at Epcot. I personally didn't enjoy riding alone. MK made me miss my family. At Epcot, it was really nice to do whatever I wanted in every country that I was never able to do before! Then I had a lovely solo dinner at Tutto Italia. My server was so friendly and made me feel comfortable eating alone. It was a great day :)

I have traveled to Orlando 5 times this year for work and so I bought an AP. I have gone into the parks or around the hotels pretty much anytime I am not in meetings. I have loved getting to just stroll around and try new places. I have also tried to visit a new hotel each trip and eat there. I have done all the parks by myself, except AK. I like EPCOT and MK more than HS. I just walked around, got food or a drink, met characters, and got on rides with short lines. I mostly easy at TS restaurants and I have never been sat with anyone or bothered because I was alone. It's nice to listen to others about their trips. I try to sprinkle fairy dust as much as I can so that is really fun too. I do miss family or a companion sometimes, but I do love going alone an would recommend doing it at least once!

I spent a day at WDW after a buisness trip a few weeks ago. I stayed one night at GF since I have always wanted to stay there. My plan was to go to Epcot and walk the World Showcase to take in the details. Once I got to Epcot I got into ride mode though. I realized that you can go so much faster by yourself and you could go on whatever you want! Also, you can really enjoy the rides when you are not taking care of other people. So after two hours at Epcot I hopped to MK and had a great time. I spent the last hour before my ride back to MCO shopping for the family. I can't wait to do it again!

Regarding restaurants, I found out that there is a bar with stools at Cosmic Rays close to the entrance. You can eat while looking out the window and you do not take up a table.

I go often alone. I would say EPCOT I enjoy the most when alone.

I would do Epcot or Animal Kingdom and soak up the atmosphere of either place.

~Epcot. I could just see myself getting lost in all the details in World Showcase. MK is a close second, it's usually open later and there is so much to do. Plus, you're just a monorail or boat ride away from the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge. I like Downtown Disney too. I've always wanted to try Raglan Road, Bongos, Paradiso 37, or House of Blues. Anyway, have fun! :goodvibes

I would go to Epcot! It would be so nice to wander around the World showcase and not rush through it!

I had a conference at CSR a few years ago, and would leave the conference to go to the parks. I caught up on the shows, because my husband is not a big "show" person, but did several rides in the single rider line that I enjoy. Also spent some time just enjoying a mickey bar and people watching!:cool2:

I've been in Epcot alone for a few hours before and loved it! I did Stormstruck - always wanted to, but never had the time with family. I also spent a lot of time meandering, enjoying my favorite little spots, and watching people. I think I'll plan for some "alone time" on my next trip. Have fun!

I've been to Orlando for business twice without the family and once with the family. Luckily I had an AP for the two trips, so I rented a car (stayed in a hotel far from WDW) and drove to WDW each night of my trip. Visited my favorite parks, ate at my favorite restaurants, did just what I wanted to. I visited three parks in one morning and ate breakfast at a resort before I had to head to the airport and drop off the rental car by 1PM.

And I called my husband and son while I was waiting in line for Soarin'. And during Illuminations so they could hear the music.

I really want to take a solo trip to WDW but I think I would have a full-scale family mutiny on my hands!

I did have a solo day trip at DL a few years ago and absolutely loved it! Rode my faves, ate what I wanted and when I wanted and took some great photos.

Have fun! pixiedust:

This last trip I had about 2 hours to myself while the kids did a YES class with my friend (2 hours because I had to travel back to AK to meet up with them, the classes are 3 hours). I went to HS intending to ride RnRC as many times as I could. Turns out it was down at opening, so I rode TSM, then ToT and then I waited for them to open the single rider line (they had reopened RnRC, but kept the single rider line closed and the standby looked like it was over 60 minutes, though their display wasn't working).
In the end, I was able to ride three times back to back.
I would love to have an entire day, or two, or three! But as another poster said, I think my family (and/or friends) would mutiny!
