Hello All!

Jack's Mum has booked for us and all his sisters and their partners/families to go to CP @ Sherwood forest for a week in February! This has completely thrown any plans for us getting in another DLRP trip in the next 12 months.

Waaaaah!

Have any of you helpful DISers been recently? Is it good? Clean?

The fact that I'm only having to pay £70 for a week is filling me with dread - we are in a New Style Woodland Lodge.........

The pool looks like it should be good fun, but surely in Feb that's all anyone does so will it be packed and horrible?

On the upside I'm paying £70 for a week as opposed to £1000 for 4 days at DLH. All the more for WDW! I still know what I'd rather be doing though!

I also think I'm having a bit of a breakdown about going on a holiday that I haven't had any say in the planning of.

I have been to the Sherwood Forest Cp and really enjoyed it!

Our lodge was really clean and tidy and the scenery is just gorgeous.

Ok so its not Disney but it is nice for a relaxing break. A world away from the hustle and bustle.

You will get your planning pack through and you will see how much there is to do there, whatever the weather.

The pool is always busy but it is so huge and there are so many different sections that you never notice how busy it is.

The more people you have sharing a lodge/s the cheaper it gets pp which is why you have bagged a bargain.

I can't think of anything else but if youhave any questions, just ask!

We always go to CP at either SF or Whinfell the last week in February. There is so much to do - not just the pool.

The scenery is lovely and you can have some nice walks around the site. The accomodation is nice and clean - not stayed in one of the new Woodland lodges but they look brilliant.

The restaurants are good - plenty of selection. If you like indian food you should try out the indian there - Very Good and a bit different to your usual one at home.

Hope this has put your mind at rest.

That's okay. We have asked about a Community sub-board. So putting OT in the header lets others know that the thread is not about DLP :)

Thanks for all your help everyone!

Glad to hear its a great place. I know it will get more exciting the closer it gets. Also will be lovely to have a big fun family trip too!

hiya
not been to cp, but nottinghamshire & sherwood forest is nice, there is alot to do around here, and a fab designer outlet village ;) not that i spend 'much' time there!!!! am sure ull have a great time!

I've not been to Center Parcs either but one of my friends has, she's been to the one near Longleat several times and also the one up in Suffolk.

She loves them, says they are spotlessly clean and never has any complaints.

Don't worry about the weather, she usually goes in January and is never short of things to do. :thumbsup2

Hi -

have only been to the Longleat one - 5 times - before the kids started school (can't afford the school holiday prices !!!!!!) and can only agree with the prev posters - it is nice, clean, accommodation great - pool does not get too crowded - great being able to swim OUTSIDE in warm water in the snow sometimes too... inside pool is more tropical in feel.

My only reservation is - the price includes the villa and the pool and outdoor play areas and trails - that is it. The other sports/spa/bikes etc are all extra. You can buy food and take it with you, or there is a "supermarket" with reasonably priced branded stuff on site. Eating on site is expensive - think eating at TGI Friday type prices every meal.... I think the problem is it is an enclosed "all inclusive" type place without it being remotely all inclusive.
If you want to eat out in a busy week, you have to prebook as well (never used to have to - it was first come first served).

Tessa
