Hi everyone. I'm a regular over at the Disneyland Paris board, but my ex is taking our son to Florida for the first time and I'd like a bit of help please. DS is a big Harry Potter fan, and they are planning on going to WWoHP on his birthday in October. Firstly, I've read some real horror stories about queue times, but gather this is calming down a bit now - how busy are the parks at the end of October? I know WWoHP will still be busy as its so new but will it be really awful or will they get to do lots? (They are staying offsite, so I think that means they cant get in as early as they could if onsite?) Secondly, is there anything they can do to make his birthday extra special? Are there birthday badges or anything, and if so where do they get them from?

Thanks for your help, feeling a little out of control as I wont be there with him!

The queue waits are slowing down but it's still busy and should remain so for a while. As far as birthdays go, Universal has birthday stickers...nothing as nice as Disney and they are available from Guest Services. If you eat at any of the table service restaurants in either CityWalk or at the resorts, they will usually do a free dessert or something. I don't know about the table service places in the parks but I would think they would as well. Just make sure to let the host/hostess know you have a birthday in your party.
