Hi all, I'm a regular on the Uk boards, my son 'sorasbestfriend' has just got on to VMK and he's bewildered by it all, could someone please explain (explain sloooowly - like you're talking to your grandmother - I'm 36 after all :lmao: )
how he actually gets pins and creates a room?
also any other tips that could be useful to a complete novice?

thanks in advance.

Welcome! The best advice is to take a look at the players guide located at hte top of the VMK forums :)

Here is a link to it
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=957598

It will give him a head start on getting some credits and the basic workings of the game.

The other thing would be to get in here to meet some DIS players who will help him out. The generosity of players in here will amaze you.

Of course VMK has a dark side to it, I would also teach him off the bat, that if something sounds to good to be true, it is. Also, don't believe anyone who says they just want to borrow anything!!

Hi there. If you go up to the top of the disboard page you will see a "sticky" message called the VMK players guide and it will answer most, if not all, of your questions.

But in very simple steps.

1. create your character.
2. Using the little globe at the bottom of your screen, look at each land and walk around. Visit the "stores"
Emporium in main street
Shrunken Ned's in Adventureland
Small world Imports in Fantasyland - for starters (there's lots more, this is just to start)
If you click on Ned in his shop (he's up on the wall) or on Esmeralda (the fortune teller in the emporium) you will get a Free pin in your inventory!

the shops all have little cash registers you can click on those and the "store" opens up and has stuff for sale. Cheap things are clothes and some chairs, some pins, and posters.

You also should get your free credits from the Yeti in the matterhorn in fantasyland, the gator waiter in new orleans square at the blue bayou restaurant, the pirate in the pirate's treehouse in adventureland, and if you go in the haunted mansion - each room has a ghost that appears and when you click on it you get credits. See the players guide for details

Hope this helps

Thank ypou very much, I will check out the sticky and I'm sure I'll be back to ask more.
You have made my son very happy

Also feel free to check it out yourself, many of us on there over 30 - 36 is no where near the top age range on here and lots of interesting people to meat even if you are not into the game aspect.

I'm addicted enough to the DIS if I get into VMK I'll have no life at all :lmao:

Ah yup! Join the club!! Addicted to DIS.... addicted to VMK.... Is there anything to life besides those two things? :confused3

Hi, I'm Pink, and sadly I have NO life....

So weird but "sorasbestfriend" sounds SOOOOO familiar. Where would I have seen that name before? :confused3

Hi Pink, sorry for not replying earlier but to answer your question sorasbestfriend was my sons choice after reading Kingdom Keepers.
