I just had to make a comment about the people who complained about no podcast due to the fact that Pete was sick. They must be the same type of MORONS who go to work sick, then infect everyone around them. That's how we end up with things like the flu epidemics! If people stay home & away from others when they are sick, germs get passed around much less. It takes an intelligent person to stay away from others when they are sick! I guess I shouldn't complain. As a Primary Care Provider, I LOVE sick people. That's just more for me to cure. Now that's job security.

Pete,

Amen on what you said. Sometimes you just can please people. I was surprised that the podcast wasn't up, but I didn't think anything of it. So good for you for saying what you said. I bet you didn't get anymore e-mails after your rant. People like them just like to be really ignorant behind the keyboards. But when they get called out on the carpet, just run and hide.

I almost fell out of my chair when Pete addressed the morons who complained about the lack of a new podcast:confused3

At first, I thought he MUST be kidding---people really COMPLAINED???? How very, very weird and how very, very sad the lack of compassion some people have.

I am glad that Pete has the sense to know when to cancel and I hope someday he and his co-horts learn to appreciate the logo for 5/3 Bank:rotfl:

I love the podcast, and of course I get a little disappointed on weeks when there isn't a show....BUT....Come on people! The podcast is FREE! What gives you the right to complain if the show is cancelled? Especially due to illness!

Its not like you paid a subscription fee to join the DIS or to get the podcast!

I think trying to reason with these dolts is pointless... Pete did good to shame them and not waste time on them. They should be ashamed of themselves, but I suspect these people don't have the capacity. Being disappointed that your favorite Disney podcast is delayed is one thing, but writing in and complaining about it like a spoiled, bratty child is outrageous.

He was a lot nicer than I would have been,LOL. I Would have probably given names, told them to get a life, and asked them not to listen anymore. Then again, that's probably why Pete is a successful business owner and I'm not. :)

Never mind the (good) reason for canceling, it is important to remember that the podcast is done as a "public service." It is free. It is done out of the goodness of the team's hearts. Granted, it ties in with, and probably helps business at DUT, but it is not something that Pete or anyone else HAS to do. It is a blessing. It is a bonus. And as such, Pete and Co. don't NEED a reason to cancel. If it were a paid subscription, the rules may be different. As it stands, I get about 2 hours of FREE and valuable entertainment most weeks. Thanks podcast team!
Chris

Amen!! I forgot to put how much I enjoy & appreciate the podcasts!! I think the team is a great bunch of people who we all should feel glad to "know" via our Ipods, Iphones, computers, etc. They put a lot of effort into entertaining us & we should show our appreciation. They truly make my commute to work & other downtime easier knowing that I can plug my Iphone in & enjoy the podcast.

I love you all and please take sick days whenever you need one.

I do appreciate all the time and energy you all take creating this weekly podcast.

I second this thread and this exact thought!!! please keep yourselves healthy!!! and just kick those nasty people off the boards :sad2: its a shame I know they take sick days from work!

Just the fact that Pete said they were nasty emails told me that what Pete said wouldn't matter to them. It would be bad enough if they were just complaints, but Pete said on top of it, they were very nasty. You cant reason with or shame someone like that. I hope the entire team can recognize they are selfish idiots and in the very small minority

ok so i have a problem with this post, people who go o work even of they are sick are the people who are the people companies want working for them. they are the people who have the best work ethic known to man. then there are the people, like myself, who CAN'T AFFORD to be out of work even for one day. we dont have the "Job security" that others do. so next time please refrain from calling us morons.

Agree. I am retired now from the field of engineering but when i was working full time there was very strict attendance rules. I believe wholeheartedly in staying home and not passing on germs but many times it doesn't work that way. Either the worker loses pay and possibly a job or your company only allows a few days a year.

Now back to the topic that most everyone else was referring to...I know that I'm bummed out when there isn't a show for any certain week. I appreciate the whole team and love the show. Sorry you had to endure nasty emails, Pete. That just is wrong. :sad2:

Just so that you see that there is another side to this story....I cant afford to be sick either.

I'm the caregiver for someone with a suppressed immune system.

If you come to work sick and share it with me....then I cant take care of her.

Good point Kevin!!!:thumbsup2

Just wanted to say that I am kinda disappointed when there isn't a new podcast....however I would never complain or demand it.
The podcast team has a life outside of the dis unplugged and as we all know...stuff happens!!! I'm just thankful they are putting up 2 podcasts a week 95% of the time. Just wanted to say Thanks for all you guys do!

As a Health Care Professional, I write doctors excuses for people every day. It is very important that if someone is sick with something contagious, that they stay away from others to prevent the spread of their illness. I'm not suggesting that everyone take off from work every time that they have a sniffle. I'm talking about things like the flu, GI bugs, strep throat, mono, etc. These illnesses spread like wildfire in the right situations. That's why schools even shut down when there is a major break-out. This is a major problem in schools because a lot of parents send their kids to school sick. We need to think about the protection of others when we or our kids have a contagious disease.

This is the type of thing that I'm talking about. Someone goes into work sick, spreads their germs to co-workers, that then are taken home to a loved one that certain illnesses could be devastating to them. I'm saying, If you're contagious, stay away from others.

But isnt it true that you can give these illnesses out to others even before you know you have it?

I agree with all in each way. I stay off when I feel bad because I dont want to give it out, but i've been made to feel uncomfortable on my return by people I work with? So I cant win!! Common Sense prevails and when I can be sick without being made to feel guilty (by the people who come in with all kinds of illnesses) then I stay away.

BACK ON TOPIC - I just dont understand how people can moan about the podcast which is free. OK - so i was disappointed it wasnt there but for goodness sake people - Pete and the other owe us NOTHING - get a grip on life use your brain and get on the net and download something else disney if you REALLY cant live without a disney podcast!!!

I too am appalled that anyone would complain, especially in a nasty way, about the lack of a podcast.

I just wanted to say that I do literally wait with baited breath to see if they are recording or one is posted (yes, there is a little cheer from my office!), and I really appreciate when a member of the podcast team lets us know there won't be a show this week. Helps me manage those expectations!

Thanks for all the awesome efforts of the podcast team. For every dolt out there, there are 10 of us who could not be more appreciative and are a bit in awe of you all!

Maria :upsidedow

Who ARE these people? I mean, how nasty to complain about (no offense, Round Table) a podcast. As much as we all love you guys, it's not the end of the world if you have to miss a week, due to sickness of all things!

I know! They're probably the same people who:

roll eyes and complain when they have to wait for an ECV or wheelchair to be loaded on a bus,

who cut in front of you for a parade and stick their kid on their shoulders,

whose party of 12 fan out across the entire walkway and make YOU move for them,

who push their kids to the brink of exhaustion and then yell at them for melting down, usually using the words "DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I'M PAYING FOR THIS VACATION?"

swim in the damn lakes
