Complaints about Disney

:) What a magical experience for both you and your daughter! Thanks for sharing such a lovely story :)

I too lost my Father about 3 years ago. He lived in Florida, so after the funeral, my DH and DD and I went for a day to Disney. I knew in my heart my Dad wouldn't have wanted us to make a trip all the way to Florida and not visit WDW. It made our trip bittersweet, but since my DD was only 5 at the time, it also gave her a fond memory of the week Gramdpa died. Thanks for your story.

I am sorry for your loss. What a lovely report. It is nice to hear some positive comments about Disney these days.

My condolences also.

I think that we have in general become an "instant gratification" society, and many people seem to only have time or the motivation to express complaints about their perceived unjust treatment. We can't seem to find the time to "smell the roses" and see the good in others. From my many years in business, I have found that normally when people contact you it is to complain about something. Compliments are usually few and far between.

In the case of WDW, I think that we expect the "magic" from every individual all the time. But, the CM's are still human, and they have a hard job in attempting to please everyone. I think that we all also know that you can't please some people, regardless of what you do.

Thank you for sharing your uplifting experience with us. It has made my day. :)

Hi Erin:

I am sorry about your loss. Your trip was a great idea, and I am happy you had such a magical experience! I agree that sometimes, people really do just look for the negative things.

Sorry about your loss.

You & your DD have some wonderful magical memories of your Disney trip. How wonderful! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Erin, I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you for posting this because it is so very true. It's why I love Disney so much.

I am sorry for your loss.

Thanks for reminding that there are so many cast members that still care about creating magic for their guests. :smooth:

I am sorry for your lose. But I am glad that you were able to brighten your day and that of your daughter's with a little Disney magic.

I looked at the post title and thought "ok, I'll bite". I am new but I also am tired of the constant petty complaints. As I got to reading the post, my eye brow began to raise as I became confused with the positive comments. I still had the post title in my head. As I continued to read, a smile began to emerge from my face. I loved that you took the time to write such a beautiful post about a very emotional time in your life.

Thank you!!!!

That was an absolutely touching story. I'm sorry for your loss. Life must go on, though, and to hear how a CM helped usher in the new generation made me cry. A reservation agent must have put a note on your reservation and the hotel staff paid attention. The Disney employees really do, for the most part, go above and beyond to make everyone feel special.

Thank you for sharing your story.
