We just got back from our 9 nights/10 days in WDW. Stayed at the WLV.

After our scheduled towel/trash day, we noticed that the staff did not leave us a new set-up of laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent and, most importantly to me (I am the only one that drinks it) coffee set-ups. When I called housekeeping/lodging, we were told that those are not included but we could have them for various charges.

Last night, we started looking at our Members Guidebook 2003-2003 and it states on page 87:

"During this service, Housekeeping will: * * *

Replenish coffee, sugar, cream, and sweetners

Replenish Dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, sponges, and laundry detergent as needed"

Anyone have a problem like this? If so, how was it handled?

By the way, we decided to add 150 points. Stay tuned.

We have not ever not had any of those replenished on T&T day. Perhaps the person you spoke with misunderstood. I would notify the resort so that they can take corrective measures to ensure that all of the CMs are properly trained. We shouldn't have to carry our DVC guide around with us on vacation to make sure we get what we are supposed to. (Although I have to admit that I take ours with us - I don't know why, I think maybe I am just obsessed, because I certainly don't look at it while on vacation! )

The coffee is important to me too! I will make a copy of that page of our Member's Book and take it with me in December, that way I don't have to take the entire book. Thanks for the heads up.

We always bring our own coffee so I hadn't noticed this problem. But if memory serves me right, when I check into the villas, there is only one or two packets of coffee. So they don't exactly give you enough to carry you over to T&T or full cleaning days anyway, do they?

But I agree that if that's part of the written deal from DVD, they should come through on the promise.

I'd hate to think that we have to bring our contract and Member Guide with us to WDW to get the proper services!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the guidebook is not part of the contract. I think the items you mentioned are subject to change...

If missing coffee packets are your only complaint, I'm glad you had a great trip!

we were there last month, bwv and on our T & T day we also got the soap ofr everything, shampoos and coffee, paper plates, silverware even a new sponge !

maybe we just hit the lottery (housekeeper) !

;)

Did you ask to speak to a housekeeping supervisor?

Interesting. My recollection was that all we got was towels and trash at OKW but got the "full" T&T at VB (our two most recent DVC trips.

We also have always had those items replenished on T/T day. However, be aware that VWL is the only DVC resort that tried to charge us for something that doesn't seem to be common practice: last year, we were given a HA room without being told. Within 5 minutes of seeing it, and realizing we didn't have a tub, we called the front desk to ask to move and told them the reason. Their reply was "Well, of course, you'll have to pay the $25 room change fee" even though we hadn't accepted a HA room. At the time, DH refused to pay, so they refused to move us, and I went without a tub. It therefore seemed a little strange to read your post that they're trying to charge someone else for something that's commonly not charged.

One time we didn't get a box of Tide at OKW on T & T day. I called and they brought it right over. All the other times we got Tide, Shampoo, Soap, Coffee, paper products if needed, in addition to new towels & take out the trash.

Last week at OKW, we asked for more dishwasher detergent and paper towels on the last full cleaning day as we had run out. It was towards the end of a 2 week stay. Mousekeeping did not leave any, but did leave 2 small boxes of Tide. We had brought our own Tide tablets.

Why don't you email or write a note to Jackie Lueders. Just ask her to verify the change in policy. See what she has to say. Do include your phone #, she just might call you directly to straighten everything out. I've spoken with her and she is an excellent listener, very customer oriented.

Member Satisfaction Manager, Jackie Lueders, 800-800-9800, or
sending an email to members@disneyvactionclub.com (subject: ATTN JACKIE LUEDERS),
or write to: Disney Vacation Club, Attn: Jackie Lueders, 200 Celebration Place, Celebration, FL 34747.

Please let us know the results.

We had the coffee there when we checked in during our July stay, but no sugar and no creamers.

Naturally, it was the one time that we hadn't stopped for groceries before arriving. I made sure to get everything I needed the following day when we had time to go to the supermarket.

When we had our Towel/trash day, it was kind of awkward because they came late and we were in the room. I simply took the towels from the housekeeper. I do recall her giving me another box of detergent as well as soaps and such.

I don't remember if we were given more coffee. Since I had bought my own, I didn't notice.

What's a HA room? Thank You!

HA is Handicap Accessible (sp.?)
There are a number of differences between these and the non HA rooms...most notably in the bathroom where HA rooms have a roll out shower rather than a tub.

When I was at BWV the end of May, we got everything replenished on T&T day. Maybe it has been changed since then but I doubt it, you most likely got a CM that did not know what they were talking about.

I agree that it's annoying to have to "know" all of the rules, but it's always the safe way....nobody's perfect. Hopefully when told the facts, the problems will be corrected.
