Complaint, where do I send?

I hear you, I really do. But, human nature being what it is, everyone just has to know what the issue was. Then, it all goes downhill. And suddenly...the DIS becomes a mean, nasty old place where people are rude!! How many times have we seen this exact same thing happen?? I know that I have...too many times to count.
I have no issues with people asking the same questions....I happily answer them. But I do have an issue with those that, as soon as they see this question, come along and start with ''please, tell us what the issue was, we need to know''. And it all goes downhill from there. Perhaps we need to give the email address and then move along.
I agree...those that want to stir things up should move along to other venues. But, sadly, they don't.
I still think the DIS is a wonderful place to be...great place to get lots of info. Most here have no issue handing out the same advice, over and over.

Agreed on all points (no pun intended). But when the regular posters get tired of hearing the same questions over and over, and the mods get tired of closing down threads and distributing infraction points, usually the question gets tacked up in the sticky zone. Consider this another vote for a sticky up top, saying, "If you have a complaint you wish to express to WDW, contact them at the following addresses..."

However the kind of people who ignore "contact us" on the main website and can't be bothered to google "Walt Disney World Complaint Address" are also the kind of people to ignore all stickys and rules and make a new post irregardless.

Perhaps there could be a sticky at the top of the forum that gives the info for "contacting WDW about compliments, complaints and suggestions"?
This would eliminate the need to post asking for the info and then waiting for a response.
My sense of it, and I doubt I'm the only one, is that SOME people (absolutely not suggesting the op of this thread) ask for the address for co plaints specifically because they want others to ask what happened. It's human nature to a point. A person is very frustrated over something, wants to complain to everyone about it, but doesn't want to just come out and say it.... So they ask where they would go to complain....
I mean, you can just ask how to contact WDW customer service without mentioning that you have a complaint - that would avoid 90% of the curiosity....
Again, if the info was right up front, it might make it easier for everyone.
Just my two cents...

If people can't figure out how to use google.com what makes you think they'll read a sticky? ;)

Dueling moderators = classic DIS. :rotfl2: The mods can't even agree but everyone else needs to watch themselves. :rolleyes1

strange the OP asked the exact same question back on 6/28/12? both on the resort board and this board.

If you read through the posts, you'll see why :)

On a side-note - mods here seemed to be damned if they do, damned if they don't. Its hard to keep a balance on a board that is meant to be only for park planning strategies, yes, you want people to discuss opinions but you don't want it getting into a heated (nasty) debate. If you want 'heated' debate, there are plenty of others places you can go for that ... I can send you some links :)

Disney has the address on their website....that's pretty simple. I understand that everyone likes to be able to post a question here, and get an answer. My issue??? Those that come back and say..'Well, let us know what happened so we can help you find the right address' or some such thing. Then, the fun starts!!!

Hey, no dueling mods here. Moderators, just like everyone else, can have slightly different takes on the same situation. This isn't my board....Cyrano gets to make the final judgements. And I have no issue with that. I highly doubt that anyone expects all mods to have the exact same outlook or viewpoint.
Do I get tired of seeing the same old questions asked? No, not really. Everyone likes to have 'ownership' of a thread...human nature. So, I like to be able to respond to that question.
Now.....if there is a sticky dealing with that particular subject??? I direct the posters to that stickied area, and then shut down the current thread. Why? Simple. There is a stickied thread because the question tends to be a common one....so rather than have 40 bazillion threads, asking the same questions, posters can go to the sticky and ask away.
But, on my board I do find that the vast majority of posters don't read the stickies!!! Not sure why. Maybe it's that 'thread ownership' thing.
But, just because I've seen the same question, a thousand times, does not mean the poster is going to get a snarky answer, from me, or anyone else on my board. That's not fair.

As for that requested email address for contacting Disney about a complaint?? Yep, everyone wants to know what the issue was. And then, that's when the fun starts. Some feel that those who think the poster has little ground to make a complaint are accused of being pro-Disney at all costs. While others who feel the OP has a legitimate gripe are classified as naysayers and those that think Disney does nothing right. There is a huge middle ground. And people seldom back down and listen to what others are saying. It's almost always a 'my way or the highway' type argument.
