I, too, love Disney. And I, too, just posted a complaint earlier today. No need to flame - it's okay to get upset, especially when this is (for most of us, anyway), a big expenditure/the only vacation being taken all year.
Because we have kids with Celiac (and one has the added bonus of being an Aspie), we
do buy the dining plan. I like the food at Disney, I like being able to escape the heat and I don't relish the idea of paying through the nose for a burger and fries...and possibly waiting in a long line with an Aspie for said burger and fries. It's happened. No fun. Do I wish I could walk up to a TS restaurant and get a table? ABSOLUTELY! Do I wish I didn't have to worry about ADRs 180 days before I'm on property (and might not know exactly what I want 6 months ahead of time)? ABSOLUTELY! Do I wish the prices weren't so
insane? You bet! Do I hate wasting an hour and a half every time we want a meal? Ugh, most certainly.
Same with Fast Pass - it drives us bonkers sprinting to popular rides in the hopes we might get on sometime before the end of the day (and hopefully not smack in the middle of toddler's naptime). But then, I guess the possibility of getting on without much of a wait is better than standing in a 2-hour line for Toy Story Mania.
Wait, I have a great idea! Instead of dining plans and 180 day ADRs, perhaps Disney could institute a FP system for the TS restaurants! You want to eat at Le Cellier? Run like mad after rope drop to see if you *might* get a table at 3pm! CRT? You'd better put on your running shoes and elbow the slowpokes out of the way if you want a FP guaranteeing you a spot for dinner.
Wait! That joke wasn't a shot at you! I'm frustrated with some other WDW stuff myself. When it's this expensive, it's hard not to get upset about little annoyances.
