complaint letter ???

By the way, I am glad to hear the little one is OK. My post is not intended at downplaying the event you experienced. I just think that a different view will help you in deciding what type of compensation will allow you to feel better. Good luck ;--)

We had a really big problem in Sept. long story short Cr lost our deposits!! Then we were charged three times!!! We were staying at the Beach club so as you know this was not a cheap amount of money, I wrote a letter compaining about what happend did not recieve a phone call for 2 months!! And all that was said basically was "thanks for letting us know this so it doesnt happen to anyone elso Have a magical day" :rolleyes1

The trip we have planned to Disney in March is for a national cheerleading competition and have no chioce. I looking forward to a mother/daughter trip though!!

We will be at a national in Orlando the same time!!! Are you doing the competition at the Swan and Dolphin??

Some hotels have the bed on a platform or have a metal wall under the bed so nothing can get under the bed and housekeeping doesn't have to worry about moving the bed so they can properly vacuum under it.

Bicker is correct, most customers aren't willing to pay the extra price that would be required to have a complete cleaning between guest stays. Sorry but it's not realistic to think housekeeping will be looking under the bed with a flashlight looking for small objects or moving the bed to vacuum under the bed.

I would never expect anyone to look under the bed with a flashlight but vacuuming fully under the bed should be done after a guest checks out. I don't really care if it is done while we are there but am I crazy :rotfl: to expect it would be done after a guest checks out? I always bring wipes and that stuff because I know that usually needs to be redone...but I can't very well bring a vacuum. :flower:

Pop Century beds are like this.

I have to agree with Bicker and Lewis. I don't believe a missed item by housekeeping under the bed is any worse at Disney than if it happend at Grandmother's or my own house. Things just get missed sometimes. I am glad your child is OK and that is the real important issue here.

You stated you wanted someone to read your letter, they did, they contacted you and they offered additional compensation. As stated by Dream1 there truly is not much else they can do. I think they have covered all the bases.

We have had accidents at Disney and this is what this was; it was an accident. The maid and maintenance had no intention of injuring anyone.

All we asked of Disney was how to get to the nearest emergency room. I did let them know what happened so that no one else would get hurt. I never expected anything more and thought no less of them if nothing else had been said. I never came here to share the details as it served no purpose. It was past history.

I do know that as guests leave later, ask to check in earlier there is a lot of pressure on the maids to just hurry up and finish the room. That is not an excuse but it is a reason why things get overlooked.

If you want the tickets sign the release if you don't want then don't, either way I think it is time to move on. :flower:

I'm not sure they CAN vacuum under the bed without physically moving the bed. Most hotels use an upright type of vacuum. Guests want late checkouts and want a room ready if they get to the resort early. Really not enough time to do a thorough cleaning. The answer to have the beds set up so nothing can get under the beds.

You asked for a response. You got one and the offer of free tickets. Take it and move on.

I disagree. I don't vacuum under my bed but once or twice a year. That's more than one should expect on a cleaning between guests.

Our situation was a bit different. Here is how it went:

We were on the Disney Cruise. In a word - HORRIBLE!!! This could be a long drawn out post but I'll keep it short. Our cabin had a really bad odor. No other cabins were available. Lots more to complain about but you don't need to hear it all.

We got the same call with an offer of 2 1 day park passes after we complained. I told him Thanks but try a little harder. We had paid for three cabins. They gave us half our money back without even arguing.

I am not one to complain or demand money back, but sometimes you have to ask for what you really deserve.

Good luck!

I understand you do that at home because it is your own dirt under there!! I think it really should not be much to ask for the maid to peek under the bed we do before we leave to make sure we do not forget anything!! and running a vacume under is really not that big a deal I would think???! :rolleyes1

We'll just have to agree to disagree about that. (And, unfortunately, it seems that the service that Disney offers matches the perspective I outlined).

Interesting discussion. Nice chatting with y'all. :wave2:

I agree 100%

Asking for quick check under the beds is an expectation that is not to bold.

Give them a small flashlight and have them do a quick inspection under the beds. This is Disney, and we pay a premium to stay in these resorts. They owe it to us to make it a great experience, and any possible event, like a child choking on something left under a bed, should be given consideration. It is not that hard, does not take that much time or effort, and will not require a more skillful worker to lift a sheet skirt, flip on a small flashlight, and take a peak.

I give the OP credit for not allowing Disney to fall below her expectations.

ITA w/ expecting a thorough check of the room including the underneath of beds to be checked between guests, suppose the previous guest left their cell phone they cant live w/out & wouldnt get back, or were perverts & left tape recorders or a camera to the unsuspecting next guests, or slobs & left their left over sushi takeout remnants (think of the smell) - this is a service I assumed would be done, if Disney can't provide an under the beds check between guests than I think the $5000 were paying for a weeks stay will prove to be a grossly inflated rate for substandard service at best, we're going to Disney for our kids enjoyment, but shouldn't sacrifice our clean way of life to do it!  :sad2: :sad2:

When I was at the Pop last May my sister and I both had a problem with security. Mine was sort of minor. The people left the latch on their door open and it kept banging every night around midnight. I called down to the desk and they said to call security when it happens. I did and they never came. The next night my sister's husband was threated by another guest. My sister called security and they never responded. The best the manager had to offer was he would use our situation as a "learning experience". I was so mad for that answer that when I came home I wrote a long e-mail. It took about 3 months for a response. It was a rude one at that. She basically said," what is it that you want?" I came to the conclusion they could have cared less about what happened. We left it at that. Good luck on your call back.

After much consideration I call Disney back and thanked them for the passes but told them they could keep them. They offered me $250.00 for my trouble???.

On top of that someting else scary happended...she said I see you had another claim from July 2004. I said that wasn't possible because we did come to Disney in 2004. After a short timet she came back and said she had reviewed it and it was a workmans comp claim (car accident while at work)...from my husbands previous employer. :worried: I asked her why she would have that kind of info and she told me they were able to look at claims we have ever made?? Why and how does Disney have the right to this information.

Does this concern anyone else????
