We were are a certain resturant within Epcot last night for dinner. My DD order roast beef however when this arrived it was full of fat and very little meat. I went to complain and ask for another meal but my DW asked me not to.

Does anyone complain if not happy with a meal they receive or do you just accept it and not eat in that resturant again.

We always let them know if we are not happy - they will try to put it right.

I would never just accept it and that goes for whereever I eat.

I would always complain, if nobody bothers then i think it just makes for situations getting worse.

We ordered a counter service type meal whilst at Universal, the servers were having issues with a large tour group who wanted a receipt for their meals and had accidentally been thrown away. Well 3 of our four meals sat on the counter and eventually the 4th was added. As soon as i got to our table my husband and his daughter took a bite and it was stone cold. My husband was all for just putting up with it but these meals aren't cheap these days. I have to say the counter staff didn't bat an eyelid and exchanged the meals with an apology straight away.

I think that everyone has a right to expect a certain standard.

i agree.

be aware in the uk, if you send food back and its comes back and its still not right you do not have to pay for your meal, you do however need to leave your name and address:confused:

100% send it back if you are not happy with it.
I eat steak however it is cooked from rare to well done but DW will only eat it burnt, we wouldn't hesitate sending it back once, twice 3 times until its cooked enough.
At Easter we ate at T-rex DTD, I got a burger wasn't as hot as I like so it went back and I asked for a hot one.
Never feel bad about sending something back if its not exactly how you want it.

That's weird. I served there from 08-09 and we never asked for anyones address when they didn't like their food. Unless things have changed in 2010??

I would say something. These restaurants rely on customer feedback or they won't know there is a problem. If done politely, which I am sure you did, they are usually happy to replace the meal or offer an alternative. They are usually grateful for the heads up that something is not up to their usual standards.

I agree that I should have complained but my DW didnt as she says cause a fuss, but it was not fair on my DD who never got a full meal. If it was in Britain she would have told me to get it sorted out right away but for some reason at WDW she becomes all shy and reserved.

Having overheard americans who think nothing of sending food back please don't hesitate.

In WPE there was an american couple next to us. He had pizza, her pasta. The wife's pasta looked gorgeous and you could just tell he wished he ordered that. He shouted the waiter over - hey Mike, is the pizza frozen. No says waiter all fresh, blah, blah. Is it not to your liking Sir? No can I get pasta instead - yes no problem Sir. If it was me and i guess most brits we would have just put up with the wrong choice or forced other half to swap! No one batted an eye at this type of request.

This is absolutley spot on. The British consumer, compared to the American consumer, is very laid back.

I've always found WDW one of the best places to give 'feed-back' - politely of course - any issues resolved with minimum of fuss.

In fact very eager to please- Last year I bought us all a frozen drink (like a slushi) and DD dropped hers as she picked up off of counter-totally her fault. (Good job we were at outside vendor!)

I asked for another one and when I went to pay for it server refused saying not to worry.

We have to do this at the resturant i work in, if a refund is given the address etc has to be left. Its silly really as all we do with the info is put it a file never to be seen again.

Everyone does it now. I wonder if it is a requirement for merchants  I went to a health food store and they rung up the price wrong - charged me twice for the same item. I was still standing at the cashier when I queried it and she voided it. I had to provide me details. :confused3

This is even more reason not to think twice about sending something back in the US. They hold their staff to high standards. If it's not what you want, make them do it right. You are paying for it.

I have never asked for something different to eat just because I didn't like the food. I have definitely sent stuff back if it was wrong (plates or silverware aren't clean, contained an item I asked to have left off, missing something)

My husband who likes meat charred has sent food back 3 times to get them to cook it enough.

I remember returning things to Toys R Us a few years ago, they asked for my address, I gave my postcode but a random number, I never give my address to any company that I don't have to.

Argos is a pain with that. They don't have you fill it in on paper - they do it on the conputer system. I made up a house number and they told me there was no such address. :rolleyes1
