I am thinking about staying at one of the Epcot resorts for the first time. If it was your first time which one would you choose between the BW/YC/BC?
Just to let you know I usually rent a car and try to avoid the buses as much as possible. I have stayed at the POR, CBR and the Poly before. I will be a solo traveler and I usually take one day to hang out at the pool. TIA :flower3:

What time of year are you planning to go? I love, love, love YC but if you are going at a time that is cool, you might not take full advange of SAB. I love BWI, too. They also have a nice pool and the bakery is steps away for that morning coffee and danish!!! If you have to decide between YC or BC keep in mind that the marketplace is at BC. They have a bigger selection of food in a carry out form. YC doesnt really have anything like this. To me BC is more laid back than YC and BWI is inbetween! Good Luck deciding!

this past mid-November was very nice weather except for a few cool nights! What does your gut say? I always say go with that. I also think everyone should experience SAB at least once!

Thanks for the response tete01830. Since it seems like from your experience the BC is the more laid back of the resorts that would be the resort for me. Since it is a vacation I like to keep it somewhat calm.:cool2:

Love, love, love the BC!!!! We stayed there this past summer and it was awesome!!! Super close to Epcot, boat ride to MGM, walk to BW for dining and afternoon entertainment, visit with Art in the lobby, breakfast at Cape May character buffet, SAB!!! I was within an hours drive (Leesburg) this past Saturday and it was 89 degrees. Definitely poolside weather. Have a great time!!!

We have stayed to both the Yacht club and the Boardwalk, and I think we enjoyed the Yacht club more. One reason could be that when we stayed at the BW, our room was sooooooo far away that it took about 5 minutes to get to at a brisk walk. Also, it was a bit closer to Epcot, and it just felt nicer to us. I also liked that the marketplace was closer. I didn't even think about going there when we were at the BW, but at the YC it was great, and we were able to get all kinds of things, especially for the kids. It was great......Good luck with your decision, though I don't think you could make a bad pick of those. :)

We stayed at Yacht Club in October. From our point of view as two adults, the Yacht Club was laid back, with a quieter atmosphere. Beach Club was filled to the brim with families and children in the lobby checking in or out or waiting for the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe. There were plenty of families at Yacht Club, but it didn't have that busy feeling that Beach Club did.

I thought that Yacht Club was a great location; a convenient walk or boat ride to Epcot, and a slightly longer boat ride to Disney Studios, and the Boardwalk was a boat ride across the lake. I vote Yacht Club for a solo trip.:yay:

If you are looking for laid back the YC would be the better choice. While the BC is nice, they have a lot more activities in the main lobby for children. This is great if you have kids, and it's awesome that they do it, but if you are traveling without kids and want peace it's not the place for you. You can walk from the YC to the BC in about two minutes, so the Marketplace is still an option for sandwiches ect....just my two cents. You can't really go wrong.

I've stayed at all three and if it were up to me, I'd pick BW every time. It's just the right mix of elegance and whimsy, IMO. (Of course, my son is 6 and he gets a say, too, so this time we are compromising and going back to BC.)

I've stayed at BWI and YC for my adult only trips.

I loved the BWI, it was so pretty and beautifully decorated, it had a more 'adult' feel, especially with the 'quiet' pool in the courtyard. However, I really didn't care for the bus service, maybe I've just had bad luck with the BWI buses, but it took forever to get anywhere after stopping off at the Swan and Dolphin.

I also really like the YC, very relaxing, but the decor doesn't do it for me the same as the BWI. The plus side of the YC for me was the bus service, never had a problem. The bus would pick up at the YC first before going onto the BC, and then off on its way. The only time it stopped at the BWI (but not the Swan/Dolphin) was on the way to DTD.

We just got back and I have to say my entire family loved BC. I was really surprised by the convenience of the location to EPCOT and MGM. We took the boat to MGM one time and walked the other times. It was less than 10 minutes even with a 4 year old in tow. And the walk is very nice. EPCOT is a 2 minute walk and having the convenience of the Boardwalk without being in the hustle all the time was really nice. The kids (and I) could have spent the entire time in SAB if we would have let them. Not having to wait for buses all the time was really nice.

Just my $.02, hope it helps. We'll probably be staying at BC for every trip in the future.

Hmmmm, it looks like no matter which one I choose I will have a nice time. I was leaning towards BC because of it having the marketplace but if YC is that close I might go with it. Either way I think having access to the legendary SAB will be worth it.:thumbsup2

Between BC and YC....I would pick YC....guaranteed full balcony:thumbsup2

if you book standard....ask for wedding gazebo view....I had a dead on view
of the boardwalk and water:goodvibes
It is only a few minute walk to BC marketplace....you can walk
inside.
Happy planning

I've stayed at BW and BC for solo trips, but not YC. I much prefer BC. One reason is that I can get fast food without going completely outside (good if it rains). I also find more nooks and crannies at BC where I can cozy up with a good book.

We have stayed at both BWI and the BC. My vote would be for the BWI. The BC is close to EPCOT, but you can also enjoy a nice stroll to MGM on the walking path. The BW has nightly entertainment and a delicious bakery to curve those cravings.:thumbsup2 The quite pool at the BWI is definately quiet and very relaxing. If you are a pool person then SAB at the BC is the way to go. If you get the chance and book club level you will not be disappointed. The CM's are one of the best around.

We've stayed at AKL, Poly and BC and my boys have chosen BC to be our Family Resort. Everything was perfect for us and Epcot, which is my boys favorite park is a quick stroll. Good luck!

I also have to vote Boardwalk. We have not stayed at Beach Club or Yacht Club but we love the Boardwalk. The resort is great and as Nascargirl said if you get a chance to stay Club Level you won't be disappointed!! It is our home away from home.:cloud9: Good luck whatever you decide!:)
