Hey all! This is my first post, so wish me luck. My husband and I are going to Disney World for the first time in October. He wants to plan some time for the water parks and I was just hoping to get some recommendations from those who are more familiar with them.

We hope to have our visits to the water parks be for down time, between all the other craziness we have planned, and am wondering which one might be more relaxing. We were also wondering if there are any problems with Blizzard Beach since a refurbishment is starting soon after we leave. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the Dis :cool1: :cool1:

We love both water parks and while BB is my fav. I think that TL would be a bit more relaxing.

The wave pool, shark reef, new water slides, and the overall tropical theme make it a great water park, TL that is.

BB has the best family raft ride and water slides in my opinion but it is very bright(all that snow) which is why some find it a bit harsh. I am a winter gal so this is why I love BB so much.

Really either one you can't go wrong.

Hello!
Welcome to the DIS! :welcome: We just tried the water parks for the first time this past May. We enjoyed them both, but if I had to pick which one I liked better, it would be Typhoon Lagoon. I think you can make either relaxing. Both have lazy rivers, plenty of beach chairs. Enjoy your trip!!

We tended to like TL better since it was more relaxing and you can spend more time in the water. The only big difference we found between the two parks was that BB had more waterslides.
For our next trip we are going to spend two days at TL. Their wave pool is so much fun!! We like to ride the waves.
No matter where you decide to go you will have a great time.

Thanks for the welcomes and the advice. It is much appreciated. And it looks like we might lean towards TL.

Just as a piece of added information, both of the waterparks go under refurbishment during the winter months (they take turns) when they aren't as packed full of people... it happens every year, and doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them per se.... just routine Disney maintenence! Just wanted to let you know! :thumbsup2

As far as a recommendation... I prefer TL a little more although the theming of BB is definitely something to see! I can't wait to take my DH to both on our upcoming trip! He hasn't ever seen either one! Have fun!

If I was going to do just one water park, it would have to be TL. Shark reef is just amazing and to me is a must do from now on. They both have the lazy rivers. We did BB last year and both this year.
