Hello! We are booked in a suite at AoA for our post-Thanksgiving 2021 trip. Since we booked they have opened the All Stars as well. I’m tempted to switch and save like $1400 but I also like the thought of having Skyliner access. We are going for 9 days and have park hoppers. What would you do?

The suites at All Stars Music are very recently refurbished and sleep 6 on 3 queen size beds. They also have a full size fridge if you have groceries. AOA is better themed towards children vs Music and Music is further away from all the parks but is very close to AK. The All Stars are considered sister resorts so you can use the pools at all of them and there is a 24 hour McDonalds walking distance from them but closest to Sports and Music. Personally I would choose Music and save $1400 for sure as that would probably cover most of the food budget but it is a very personal decision. Do you have young children who would enjoy the AOA theming? How many times will you use the skyliner for Epcot and DHS and is the extra money worth those rides in the skyliner vs the bus?

As the above poster said, the theming is probably the biggest difference. We are not really pool people but the grandtinker liked the splash area and feature pool better at AoA. $1400 seems like a big number for theming though. Not seen the new refurbished Music suites though.

First I would verify where they are in the renovation, is it complete? all I've found says it is not. You can't trust anyone on the phone. The proposed schedule was half the suites done first then other half done last. The Disney website still lists the old bedding for the suites. This usually happens when renovations are not complete and will not change until the last suite is done. This way if you end up with an old suite they are covered by what they advertised.

I am not a fan of Music but I stay in regular rooms which are at the back. The plus here is the suites are up front so basically very preferred location. I think the new suites are nicer than AOA because the sofa is a bed, not sofabed and the kitchen is legit it's own space. [I do bring food and we eat in room]. If the room and bedding are your priority then I would save the money but use it to enjoy other things as I likely wouldn't hang around the resort any. I would use for special events, dinners out etc.

If hanging around the resort and enjoying the pools are an important part of your trip then I would stay with AoA. The pools are top notch for value and the quiet pools are better than even the deluxe quiet pools. You have the skyliner for two parks rather than long bus rides.

If I'm not guaranteed a refurbished suite then it would be a hard no for Music. But if they are I would actually pick Music but spend no time there other than in my room ... use the extra money to do some fun stuff.

Thank you all for your insight! We have a 1 year old and a 6 year old plus my sister and her husband (both in mid-20s) coming with us. I am leaning toward staying at AoA but the better mini-kitchen and lower price is tempting at ASMu. Does anyone know the square footage of each suite?

Art of Animation Suite approx 565 sq ft (built new as suite)
AllStar Music Suite approx 520 sq ft (converted two old rooms into suite)
