Hi Dis friends! My mom and I had a great time visiting DLP to use as our base for exploring Paris. The parks were excellent. I actually only spent about 2 hours at all in our 9 day stay exploring the parks, but what i saw seemed so close to California Disney. I think anyone looking to take their child from anywhere in Europe for a Disney experience would have a wonderful time.

Now - the downside. Frankly, the hotel we stayed at wasn't up to the Disney standards we are lucky enough to experience in Florida. The Newport was pretty beat up and a lot of things kept breaking in our room. Disney fixed everything, and it did not in any way "ruin" our stay.

We do have one question, however. Part of the experience for us in Florida is enjoying the pristine pools and hot hot tubs after a long day sightseeing. The Newport pool was ok - too cold. And the jacuzzi was not even heated. (bummer!!!) Does anyone know if that is just an issue at Newport, or are all of the pools kind of lack luster? Any suggestions? I have back issues, and a hot jacuzzi and good swim is very important to me. Thanks.

Hi.

I am in no way an expert on the pools but from the reading i have done on this site, if you go into any pool (not sure on the disney hotel one though) you can expect them to be cold. Why they are not heated is anyones guess.

Also WOW did i read your post right?, you stayed for 9 days and only spent 2 hrs in the parks?. I could never do that:goodvibes

Yes, but we went expecting to use DLP as a base to explore Paris from. We are DVC members and get down to FLorida a couple times a year. And THEN we hit the parks. In fact, we are going for two weeks in December. I had never been to Europe at all - so I was saving my Disney experiences for December so I could explore as much as France as I could. I even got to go to Normandy!

But, really all the pools are cold? And they do not genereally heat jacuzzis?

Hi :wave2: glad you had a great holiday. :goodvibes

I've only swam in the Explorers (off-site) pool and that was warm but all I've ever read on here is people complaining that the Disney hotel pools are cold.

I can't recall people complaining about the jacuzzis but perhaps they put one big toe in and change their mind! :lmao: I can't imagine sitting in an unheated jacuzzi  I had back problems on one trip to WDW and sitting in the hot jacuzzi every night certainly speeded up the healing.
