Has anybody done a chart, or organized info about the different resorts to make it easy to compare them? For instance, make a column for each resort across the top; then list different aspects down the left, and fill-in across the chart. For instance, item 1 could compare room size (basically same, but OKW). Item 2 could describe the decor. Item 3 could show if there is a food court or a restaurant. Of course, you would want to add a line that shows the maintenance fees per point as an item, and show when the contract expires. A chart like this could really help anyone considering buying in . . . like me. ::yes::

The trouble with that idea is that most of the criteria are so subjective. What I consider wonderful decor, you might consider tacky...etc, etc, etc. Price per point retains some semblance of a relationship, but dues fluctuate from year to year.

Here's a thread that starts with a discussion of home resort selection. Hopefully, it will be of some help. Read the disclaimers at the top, and keep in mind that there is a lot of valuable input from many DVCers throughout the thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=778634

Jim's absolutely right. It would be very subjective. Maybe a food court is important to you, it's not to me. Many here like the extra years that SSR and now AKV offer, I love my BWV.

A prospective buyer should stay at least at one or more DVC resorts and at least visit the others before making a decision.

I can sum this up quite quickly-

VWL- Awesome
The others- Pretty darn good

You can put that in chart form if you like. :teeth:

The most I've done is a point chart with resort openings, closing, and number of rooms of all sizes.

This site has a pretty good breakdown of each resort: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resorts/resortmain.htm#dvc

And once you're a DVC Member (and/or get that pretty color sales book), you can see lots of pictures via the web. I love to do the 360 virtual tours. The ones of the two story GV's are especially fun.

Oh and someone else has already done a Dues history per resort. http://personalpages.tds.net/~rb/DIS/DVC/DVCDuesHistory.htm
