Was wondering how the week between Christmas and New Years is as far as crowds go compared to Spring Break? How is the weather at this time? Do people really swim in the resort pools?

The crowds were a bit worse over the holidays, the weather wasn't bad but we needed jackets in the early and late hours, and the pools are heated and still used.

It is the busiest week all year.

There will be park closures, expect long waits, and standing shoulder to shoulder all week.

My boss did it once and said never again.

We never had problems with shoulder to shoulder.

If they have closures and you are in a Disney resort, you are the last to be restricted and although a park may close for a short time to new entry, you will have access to another park.

As Missytara said, it's the single busiest week of the year. Parks can reach capacity and close by mid-morning. Expect long lines for rides and food.

FL winter weather is extremely variable. You can have cool temps all week, or warm temps all week. You can have a day in the 80's, and then the next day will be in the 60's. You can be pleasantly warm in jeans and a t-shirt during the day, and miserably cold in a fleece jacket at night. There's just no way to tell in advance.

Swimming will, of course, depend on the temps. The pools are heated, but it can be awful chilly getting out of the water if it's a cool day.

Thanks everyone, I would love to go at Christmas time. Spring Break/Easter week was our most crowded trip to date. Usually if it got bad, we left the park and went back to the resort. We always went back and swam though. Being from Illinois I'm sure we can handle a little bit cooler temps, but not sure if we want to swim if it's too cold!
