Compare supershuttle and DL resort express

hi guys.

Every single trip we have made to Disneyland we have used supershuttle. I'm not sure why. I think it's just that they are easy and you can always find a coupon code. But, honestly, the drivers scare me.......every single time. They all seem to drive like maniacs, weaving in and out of traffic, slamming on their brakes. We have always arrived in 1 piece, but we all have white knuckles by the time we get there.

Anyway, I was thinking of taking the DL resort express this time. Prices seem a little more but I think kids (or at least 1 kid) is free so probably price would even out to be very similar. I understand the express comes on a fixed hourly schedule though. So I guess there is the chance that we might have to wait a while for it but also it seems more comfortable, has wifi onboard etc.

Can anybody compare the 2 and possibly give your thoughts.

We've never used the supershuttle but have always used the DL Express bus, so I can speak for our experiences with that. It's convenient, the drivers have always been friendly, on time and drive safe :)

Thanks :)

So I am buying tickets on viator. I am putting in 1 adult and 2 kids. It's only charging me for the adult. Is that right?

I feel the same about SS.

I don't feel much better about express. I personally use Karmel shuttle.

We used DL Express on our last trip. Great, comfortable, friendly, safe - but, it stops at so many places in the airport and hotels, and sits at the DL Hotel for a good 15 minutes while they sort out the tickets. We arrived in peak time, rain and dark, we took forever to get to our hotel. Not really their fault but I remember thinking about all the posts on Super Shuttle how it goes direct, only picks up a couple of families at once, faster maybe, but if they drive like maniacs then DL Express is a good option just be prepared to take longer to arrive at your destination!

We got discount coupons for DL Express on an Anaheim tourism website, I can't think of its name, maybe someone else will know.

I feel the same way about Supershuttle but then one trip we had to take a hasty cab ride to LAX and my gawd, I thought we were going to die.

My husband slept. :headache:

We have also taken the DL Express and we did have to wait nearly an hour for the next bus from LAX. I feel more comfortable in the larger bus though.

In April I think I will book a car service/executive shuttle to DL and do the Express back to LAX. We are staying on site and I think they pick up last.

We always take a taxi.
Now the first few times I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. The driver's do drive AGGRESSIVELY for sure.

When we go out to the airport taxi stand I have a chat with the director. I let them know my feelings of the drive to DLR.
I'm extremely clear I want a driver that will drive safely.
That means not speeding, no erratic lane changes and most of all they are not to use their cell phones (unless they are using legal hands-free devise).

Our last taxi ride from PPH to LGB has been the best so far.

Hey bumbershoot, do you think that express is just as scary and insane as Supershuttle?

I guess I figured that seeing as it was more of a coach that they wouldn't drive like SS do and that the drivers would be a bit more professional.

Well that sux!!!!

The Uber online tool quoted me an estimate of $56 from LAX to DLR. I'm going to try that on my next trip.

We did too back in our January 2013 trip. Here is the link. But when you click "View Coupon" on that website, it takes you to the DRE website. It appears there is a Kids Ride Free Promotion. So a Round Trip from SNA for 2 parents and 2 kids is $70.

In 2013, it cost $90 before coupon, and $70 after coupon. I like things that don't go up in price for 3 years.

I have used both the Supershuttle and the DL express. I do agree that the Supershuttle drivers are a tad aggressive on their trips between the Airport and the resort area, but... they are paid by the trip and the more they can get in, the better their day's wages are. The DL express takes a lot longer than Supershuttle, and one has to wait until you hit your hotel (if I remember correctly the first stop is the DL hotel). We are using the Supershuttle next month, as we have a trip from Lax to DL to San Pedro and back to LAX total for the two of us was just under $150.00.

Ok so when you say that DL express takes a long time, how long are we talking?

I have also had to sit through various hotel stops when we rode supershuttle. I dont think I have ever been on a direct ride or been the first stop on SS. Is DL express really that much worse?

I have been on DL Express for an hour. I was about to lose my mind, and never rode them again. Used SuperShuttle and actually have had some fine drivers. Now we only use Uber for the 3 of us!

Anyone have a sense of door-to-door comparing SuperShuttle & DL resort express??

I was just checking out a quote with Prime Time for a private van, and they show 90min travel time LAX to DGC... does that sound right?!
