We have been to WDW in the summer and survived. We are going to DL in June and were wondering what to expect....I have read the temp. charts and see the mid 80's. Is it actually comfortable though? Would shorts/tank tops/sandals be appropriate?
Thanks!

I would say yes, those items sound about right but bring a sweatshirt for the evenings....

I have not been to FL but am guessing that CA will be far less humid!

never been to FL- but just the thought of the humidity there scares me ;) It will be warm, but not heavy sticky hot, a much drier hot!

I have done summer trips to both. No comparison. WDW is barely tolerable. DLR is wonderful - with a few really hot days thrown in but most are very nice and little humidity. Tee-shirts and shorts from 6AM until midnight is what we do at DLR. But be sure to drink water.

June is beautiful in CA! Shorts and Ts are fine, but a hoodie for the morning/nights, and maybe even a pair of jeans incase there's an unusually chilly morning. If you are planning to say LATE at night, I might choose capris instead of shorts. This is assuming BTW that our 'cold' is the same as your 'cold' LOL. If you're from Alaska or something, you'll be just fine LOL. But my point being it's BEAUTIFUL but can be a bit warm mid day and a bit nippy morning/night.

Days should be warm. But you will need a jacket during the morning/evening. June Gloom is also something to keep in mind. It's late night early morning low clouds (aka fog) that burns off by the afternoon. Although sometimes it's so thick that it never burns off and you're left with a cool gray day.

Just curious - the last time we did WDW in summer (late August 1992) there was a thunderstorm every day at about 4pm, clearing after an hour or so. Is that the typical summer pattern, or was that an aberration?

That seems to be pretty typical for Florida.

I concur with HydroGuy - have done DL is summer time hundreds of times and WDW in late Spring, early Fall - and WDW was way more brutal in terms of weather.

DL can get hot in summer, but June is usually very pleasant, it may even be a bit cool on same days and particularly in evenings. Most likely it will be in the low to mid 80s. Bring a jacket and pants for nites.

WDW is brutal weather wise - crazy humid and hot. It really can wear you out.

two words---NO COMPARISON!! I have done both in the summer multiple times and the difference is the humidity. WDW can be unbearable whereas I have never been overly hot at DLR. You will love the weather. It is what keeps me coming back to DLR over WDW in the summer...Enjoy!!!

Yup, I agree. My experience, when it comes to summer weather, is WDW = horrible, DL = very pleasant. While you get some very hot days in Anaheim once in awhile, natural air conditioning always cools things down so that the mornings and evenings are almost always wonderful. Florida was hot and humid 24-7, and those afternoon thunderstorms can be pesky.

I do say YES... Being from Oregon in the 80's is nice. But being in the 80's at WDW is HORRIBLE with the humidty. We went there for our honeymoon in July 2001 and we couldnt believe the change and the way 80's feel.
