Okay guys,
I need some feedback from those of you who have gone to MNSSHP and UNV and Adv Island. I have been to Disney 7 stb 8 times but have never gone to either (cause well they didn't have MNSSHP when I was kid) and our Disney trips were always for Disney World Parks.

So Hubby and I were thinking to surprise our son and take him to MNSSHP but then he has started to mention Unv and Adv Island and I have seen special promoting a 7 day all use pass of Unv and Adv Island for $99 a person and am trying to decide is MNSSHP (at almost $200 for the three of us) a good choice or is Unv & Adv Island a better choice for us? Our son isnt really into candy (except for gummies) but his birthday is 3 days after Halloween so he has always been a Halloween Kid since it is so close to his birthday?

But I know Hubby and I are intersected in both as well so can't decide. So all feedback please thanks guys :) BTW we will be in Disney for 10 days 10 nights (Aug 30-Sept9) but will arrive in Orlando Aug 28

You really can't compare MNSSHP with US/IOA. Apples and oranges.

MNSSHP is a special ticket event in Magic Kingdom. Most of the rides are open, there are special parades and fireworks, dance parties, face painting and character meet and greets. We did it in October and had a great time (it was me and my niece who was four at the time). It wasn't crowded at all and the lines for the rides were short. She loved the dance parties! With the MHSSHP ticket you can enter the park at 4 pm. The party ends at midnight. At the end of the day, however, its still WDW.

US/IOA are theme parks, with lots of thrill rides. We just got back from a week there (my kids are teens) and had a blast. Its a theme park experience that's completely different from WDW.

In Universal Studios there's Jimmy Neurton (simulator ride), Shrek 4d (movie), Twister, The Mummy (indoor roller coaster), Disaster (similar to back lot tour), Jaws, Men in Black (ramped up version of Buzz Lightyear), Simpson (another simulator), ET, Terminator (cross between 3d movie/show), children's play area and several shows: Beetlejuice Graveyard Review (rock/pop), Animal Actors, Blues Brothers, Horror Make Up show).

IOA has the Hulk (roller coaster, Dueling Dragons (double roller coaster), Spiderman (simulator), Dr. Doom, Storm Accelerator (think teacups), Popeye (similar to Kali river rapids), Dudley Do Right (similar to Splash Mountain), Jurassic Park (cross between Dinosaur/Splash Mountain), Posiden's Fury and Suess' Landing. They also have the Sinbad show.

Both parks have excellent theming, just very different from WDW.
