compare mission space green to star tours

My husband and I have some motion sickness issues. We were good on star tours, but have always avoided mission space due what we've heard. Can anyone compare?

Green is much less intense than Star Tours. The Mission: SPACE simulators were designed to spin primarily, but it the pitch & roll movements are not that extreme.. The Green side does not spin, so you are basically in a cabinet that swings hangs and swings. It does not jostle nearly as much as Star Tours.

Hope that helps.

Star Tours, since they introduced the new version, renders me a trembling, green tinged mess that takes a while to recover.

OTOH, MS green has never caused me even a twinge of nausea.

Agree....star tours worse motion than Green MS. I am very sensitive to motion sickness, too. I take Bonine for each WDW trip. Star Tours still leaves me a bit uneasy. Green MS does not affect me.

We usually take Dramamine, and did star tours 2x in a row and were good...so I'm glad to hear MS green is easier. I think we're going to just due it and ride MS green and sum of all thrills on our Feb trip!

Mission: SPACE green side is far less intense than the orange side since the simulator on the green side has no spinning. There is still small jerking movements and a slight pressure feel when the ride first starts. If you compare it to Star Tours in the aspect of jerking motion, Star Tours is more intense than Mission: SPACE green side. However, depending on the type of movements that cause your motion sickness, Star Tours may be less intense. I always feel a little more nauseous after Mission: SPACE due to the slight pressure feeling and tighter sitting space. I have never had a problem with Star Tours.

Would love to hear from more people. I am fair after star tours. Really have to be sure to only look at the screen, nothing in the cabin. I have always wanted to try mission space, but have been chicken. The 360 degree movies in the counties really make me sick. :crazy2:

I have been on orange, green and Star Tours. Best way to deal with green is to stare right at the screen. Problems with green for me are feelings of claustrophobia from being locked in a small cabinet. I have no claustrophobic feelings in any other Disney rides. Star tours makes me more nauseous than green . Orange is the worst as far as nausea. Hope this helps!

I have been wanting to try the Orange side of MS for a couple trips now but this past trip was the first I could get my DH on it. I went with him and my Dad and I didn't feel either of them (DH with High BP and Dad is 73) should do the orange and I didn't want to go by myself. I didn't think I could get my DH on it anyway. I think the only issue with green is Claustrophobia as a PP said.

We were all OK on Star Tours but I do get headachey (is that a word? LOL)

MS, both orange and green, can be very claustrophobic for one who has tendencies.

Green side made me so nauseated I don't know why, it barely moves. Star Tours did a little bit. Bummed me out I have NEVER had an issue with motion sickness and now it happens on most rides :(

I've ridden all three. I did MS Green just a few weeks ago for the first time after only riding orange. I was very surprised at how well the ride works without the spinning. You still get a feeling of launching and weightlessness. It's not near as intense as orange, but it's still there.

Green is by no means a waste of time if you like simulators.

As for comparing it to Star Tours, there really isn't a comparison. They are both simulators, but the tight confines of Space make it a different ride. I think if you can do Star Tours than Space would be fine too.

I also get motion sickness easily.. Star Tours for me just depends which day it is for some reason I will be good 1 time and not so good the next..

As for mission to space the green side isn't bad at all maybe 1 or 2 spots you may feel a little queasy..

Now I did talk myself into going on the orange side this time and I have to say I was saying a few choice words and that was just on the take off... LOL It is night and day from green to orange and if you are the least bit timid I suggest don't ride the orange at all...

I'm fine on Star Tours. I get moderate motion sickness in cars and such, but Star Tours doesn't affect me much. I may get a little queasy, but it goes away as soon as the ride is over.

I rode Mission Space one time, and I'll never ride it again. I nearly cried, and there were several times I felt like I might actually vomit, which never happens. Combine the motion sickness with the claustrophobia, and it's a no-go for me. Honestly, I was having to really concentrate to keep from going crazy. I was just praying for the ride to end.

Since Mission Space comes with barf bags (yes, even the green side), and Star Tours doesn't, I'm assuming motion sickness is a more common problem on Mission Space. But that's just an assumption. :)

ETA: This was the green side, btw.

I can get a tiny bit queasy on ST if I let myself, but on my last trip I decided to visit MS again after a long, long absence (I had ridden it when it was newer and I was younger:lmao:.)
Surprisingly, MS Orange didn't seem all that bad in comparison with ST. I'd say it might even have been roughly equivalent (for me). So I would not worry about Green.
But YMMV.

Sounds like I might be in the minority, but ST gives me BY FAR the worst nausea of any ride. I rode once and was nauseated for at least an hour afterward. On the other hand, I've ridden orange MS many times (never done green), and have never had even the slightest nausea.

Mission: SPACE Green Side has only left me sick once, although this was only 24 hours after 24 hours of flying where I often have problems with my ears. I've ridden it another 30+ times and never had an issue.

I rode Mission: SPACE Orange once and felt so sick for half an hour afterwards. I've also ridden Star Tours which made me sick too.

Allow me to add my voice to the others here! I am a middle aged woman who does NOT do spinny / motion sickness rides anymore. Heck, if I'm watching my hubby play certain video games, I get sick!

However, Star Tours and Mission Space GREEN are fine for me. In fact, I think ST is a little more intense, so if you can handle that, you should be ok with MS.

Have a lot of fun!

My SIL is prone to motion sickness but she does fine on Star Tours . . . but, when did the "version" change? Recently? We haven't been since Feb 2013. She wants me to try it, but if it's worse than since 2013 I don't know!:worried:

Star Tours - The Adventures Continue opened May 20, 2011. It replaced Star Tours, which closed Sept 7, 2010. At least in my opinion, ST was much less intense than the new version (ST-TAC).
