comp question...re: temp internet files

I am pretty good about deleting my temp int files every other day or so. Lately, when I go and delete them...I double check and go back in and it is empty. But when I go about an hour or so later and check all these files pop up in there....from months ago!!

It says I have over 15000 files in there now and I just emptied them this afternoon.

Anyone know what the problem could be?? I am running win98 and also have norton on my computer.

It is driving me nuts...cause I also have to delete a portion at the time or else it stops responding.

I just don't know why they keep popping back up in there.....

the files aren't actually deleted, just means the space is made available for newer content, sounds as though you have reserved a lot of space for internet files. if you are using IE, you can limit the ammount of space used for temporary internet files by clicking on "internet options", then click on "settings" under "temporary internet files" then use the slider to lower the ammount reserved. I also have the files deleted automatically every time I log off, you can do that by clicking "internet options" then click the "advanced" tab, scroll down to "security and check the option "empty temporary internet files folder when browser is closed" that should help

thanks....I will give that a try....but just wondered why all of a sudden they are popping back up...and not just a few...15000+
