Today we went to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul, Minnesota. We had a beautiful day (High of 70) although it was a little chilly in the shade sometimes. :)
The Zoo was great! Really well maintained, nice exhibits, perfect size.
We brought a picnic lunch and ate inside the zoo. Then we went to the Conservatory where we saw beautiful plants and flowers. :)
We got there at 10:15. The Zoo opened at 10am. When we left it was PACKED and there were people yelling at each other from there vehicles over parking spaces. DH and I just had to
 at them. We got there early enough to get a parking spot in one of the main lots.

Here are a few pictures:

Wow... great pictures. Looks like a beautiful zoo & conservatory.

:D Looks like you guys had a great day. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, so pretty, Jenn, looks fun. I can not believe how BIG Avery is getting. I still think of her in the b/w Christmas shot of you and her, an infant then. Thanks for sharing these, very nice.

I love Como Park. We lived in Arden Hills and used to visit Como Park often. There was a hill where wedding party's went for pictures. I used to dream of the day when I would pose there but we moved----
Thank's for the memory's!

There was a wedding across the road from the Conservatory today. You could see the bride and the wedding party there. A beautiful spot for a wedding, but busy! :)

Hi,
Thanks for sharing. Como Park is a great place to visit.

Thankyou SO much for sharing these! I haven't been to Como in a few years and seeing the Conservatory pics inspires me to get back there.

I'd never seen the Japanese gardens at Como either! Didn't know about them I guess, so thanks especially for sharing those pictures!

Your daughter is a doll...what a smile with her on the giraffe!! :teeth:

Como Park is really an under-rated local treasure. Its not the most spectacular zoo I've ever seen, but its a great place to see a pretty good variety of animals kept in a reasonably comfortable environment.

And the size is very manageable when visiting with small children.

For us Twin Cities natives its special to watch our children experience a place we loved as children. I can close my eyes and smell the chopped up fish that I threw to the seals, the molten wax statue of Casey the gorilla, the terrible odor of the inside of the old "cat house"......

Great pictures! I'm glad you had a good time, and the weather even cooperated!!! It's been fairly chilly here most of the time, but at least it was sunny. Were the polar bears showing off like they usually do? They are my favorites!

The Polar bears were DH's favorite. He was really impressed with the size of their paws. He kept talking about it all day! LOL! :)

Glad you had a great time Jenn. I love Como and the Conservatory is so wonderful!!

Erika - I love the polar bears too and the gorillas, I could watch them for hours.

They change out the flowers at the conservatory seasonally. Spring is my favorite with the hydrangea, lilies and tulips. And at .50 to get in (at least last time I went) it's a bargain!

I have a friend that got married there, it's beautiful but you do have to limit your number of guests.
