Commutes you hate making?

90% of my driving is on the expressway and I love it (not near a big city though so traffic is rarely an issue).

However - any commute on a 2 lane highway is absolute torture for me. Odds are always high there's some pickup or semi-truck going 15 under the speed limit and there's no way to pass them.

Wow. Semi-trucks here all tend to do 15 over the speed limit. The challenge is not getting run over.

Any time I have to go into the bigger city it is a drive I hate. I live in the middle of nowhere and like the laid back driving it provides. Going into town is something I try to do very little of.

When I have to take a bus into Camden, New Jersey. I go to Cooper Hospital for a lot of the specialists I've seen for various things, and it's one of the finest. But the bus ride there and back to my town is horrendous and the transportation center where I have to catch the bus home is a dump.

Driving to Manhattan and in Manhattan. DH does the drive.

I also hate driving to Brooklyn. Can never find parking. You go for a wake/funeral/visit a friend/family member, etc. I lived there for years and survived. Now I think it's crazy!

My 2 1/2 hour EACH WAY commute from the Hudson Valley to Jersey City via public transit before I retired. My husband drove me to the nearby Metro North station for the 90 minute ride down to Grand Central. Then I had to walk to the subway, take the downtown 4 or 5 then walk through the Oculus at Fulton Street to get to the PATH station. Took the PATH train over to the Newport Station and then a short walk from there to the office.

I hate driving in Brooklyn. We go a few times a year and my dh has to drive each time. Then it takes 30 minutes to find a parking spot.

I have a couple big factories by me (Coke being the biggest) so they are mainly exiting and leaving. They really never need to get up to speed as the Interstate is about 5 ish miles away.

Now those same semi’s on the interstate? Watch out, lol

I have to drive across Toronto (Markham to Mississauga) on the 401 - which is one of the busiest, if not THE busiest, freeways in North America. Even now, during COVID times, it'll take me between 60-90 minutes to get home.

Thankfully, my boss has some level of sanity and we're in a hybrid model for the time being.

Anytime we have to leave Long Island. (Unless we’re going north to CT by ferry.) It just doesn’t matter. Traffic ALL THE TIME-too many cars or accidents or roadwork. Just depends on how much. We’ve done well leaving around 6am on Thanksgiving day. And just found out recently, no one drives during the Super Bowl. Easiest drive home in a LONG time. I’ve never seen the Belt Parkway so clear!

I was born in Cooper Hospital, same room as my father was! I've got a lot of family buried at Cramer Hill-

To this day (49 years later...) my father doesn't want me going to Camden. Ironically my sons don't want me going into Baltimore..... I live smack in between the two.

Honestly, I don't have a commute I really hate making. I do have to drive the same route down to lower Delaware a lot and sometimes it gets boring, but luckily I don't have to deal with much traffic unless it is a Friday and there is Shore Traffic.
